Default Shroud lag back bigger and better

so went to a shroud run and in part4 right towards the end of the fight, pow team wipe.we were all wondering in 2 seconds how we could go from full health, spamming heals to total party wipe? so we all recalled started a new group went back in and we get to part 4 and pow another lag spike so drastic that when i got put in part 5, dead, for 30 seconds damage scores rolled by my head. i imagine that when the patches came out it rolled back the lag fix that we all enjoyed that week after last mod. but lag is back bigger and better than before. the word "un" comes to mind, unsatisfied, unremarkable, unmotivated, unprofessiona l. not really mad as this is what i've come to expect. i fall into the unsatisfied category. so is this what we get? more lag, as it seems to be the great equalizer.do they even know how much lag there is? i really dont expect a fix, just wondering if they even have a clue as to all the broken parts of this game.oh.well have a good day and watch out for that old,new shroud lag.

Same thing happened to me yesterday in a shroud ...

three healers and somewhere in part 4 bam all of a sudden every one cept 1 fighter and 2 of the three clerics where dead in an instant ...

myddo explained why the rouge died (only 300 hps) but lag was crazy bad ... worst its ever been ...

and even with a recovery .... lag cost us part 5 ....

You guys don't know that Arraetrikos now casts Time Stop and Twin Spell: Delayed Blast Fireball, Twin Spell: Meteor Shower in rapid succession?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All kidding aside, no, I have not seen Shroud lag after the update. Were healers spamming mass heals when this happened? Were members of the party from different geological regions of the earth? i.e. Some from Oceania (Australia, New Zealand), some from Eastern Asia (China, Japan, Korea), some from Europe and some from North America and some from South America? DDO now has a system to deal the spell casted (like haste, etc.) asynchronously and the recipient won't get it till their system has caught up.

Not all lag is Turbine related. The poor gaming PC's and connections of your fellow players mean that it is harder for the servers to update their clients, causing lag.

You cant blame all lag on Turbine (some certainly, but not all).

I had a similar situation last night, but there were 3 groups runnig shroud at the same time. I hit a huge lag spike but I heard my hard drive chugging pretty hard at the same time and when I checked my toolbar I noticed that my laptop picked the worst possible time to do a backup and a virus check at the same time. Stopped both and part 5 went fine with a few little hitches but nothing major.

Not all turbines fault but it has improved from before when it was really bad.

What TIME were you Shroud-ing? Could be that whole backup lag thing.

between 6pm and 9pm mst. so i really dont think it corresponds with any unofficial lag times, but i might be wrong about that. at the same time my guild was running tod and got lagged out also.

Ran a shroud last night and didn't have any lag. No deaths either. A couple of guildies (barb, barb, cleric), a really good FvS on loan from Foecleaver (thanks Vynnt) and the rest were pugs, and by pug I mean whoever hit the lfm got accepted. We didn't save anything at the end. It was just kill, kill, kill. I don't seem to has the same difficulty with the game that some of you guys have. I wonder why?

Wierd... I ran 5 shrouds last night between 5pm and 8pm mountain time zone with no lag whatsoever. Other than waiting on an Aussie and a Frenchy who kept disconnecting, every run was pretty smooth.

    I never see lag dps.

What I do see, almost everytime, is a lag spike at the end of part 1 and part 4, when running to the chests.

I haven't seen a problem specific to the Shroud since the update. However, I have seen an uptick in the number of jarring completely game halting full server lag spikes which have on occasion been nasty enough to cause mass DC's.

Agreed. Something about the loot generation on the Shroud chests in 1 and 4 especially causes a violent freeze. It's pretty much just part of the experience for me now.

Name your servers if you are going to claim lag. What kind of lag as well. Standard Melee Lag, or spikes and waves. Times and party details as well. How many casters, how much DPS, any Monks or known long distance players from EU or beyond and how many Disconnects.

    Details details details...

On Thelanis, the Melee Lag for THe Shroud persists but inconsistently, more often just spikes for a few seconds. But a few seconds of caster lag in Pt 4 or 5 is a party wipe.

The general complaints are decreasing among the server population on Thelanis, but the ridicule of DEVs and their abuse of the truth continues..

TBH, we had a 5-arcane Shroud and it was a lag-fest. Two had eardwellers and were emptying their mana bars.

I think sever population and time is a big deal .. my bad lag run was at 8:45-9:25pm EST on sarlona server ..

normally i get no lag at all ... even pre update 5 rarely saw a ton of lag though there where times when i was swinging away and no one else was .... i use high speed cable in a great community (where not to many people download and game so its not a bogged down network) with rogers cable.... I run a pretty decent computer 6 gigs DDR and about 200gigs of free space left on a 1 tera HD ... running ATI Radeon HD 3850
card .. and would have to actually be at my computer to know any other basics ... cause i didnt really care much so long as it could run my games when i bought it (last winter for 1400 sweet deal cause it was on sale)

so neither my network or computer is the issue ... others computers different story ... i would understand that.

I have noticed occasional lag in Shroud as well, usually in the last 2 parts. I specifically recall as another poster has said, that after finishing part 5, even though the fight was done, I still had damage/healing numbers scrolling over my head until I reached the shrine/altar area.

I also have seen a few times while doing the last 2 parts there are lag spikes where everything stops for a few seconds, the game resumes and suddenly 2-3 melee are now dead. Thankfully we have always completed anyways, but it could have easily turned out worse. While not constant as to when it happens like the old lag, the Shroud lag effect still does certainly exist, its just more random.
