Default An Exploiter of a Different Breed

i'm pretty new to DDO but payed for the 32 point build and mnk but thought i'd favor up to get drow. once i got drow i was thinking of a build that would play out nicely w/ finesse and drow's shortsword enhancement line. what i came up w/ was a dex/wis build similar to the popular "exploiter" build. its a Ranger 12 / Monk 7 / Rogue 1 build that goes down the tempest II and ninja spy I paths ( which i'm hoping the tempest and monk flurry have some synergy). if my theories are right, it should be a finesse/ high AC build which includes TWF and ITWF, evasion, great UMD and rogue skills, decent DPS w/ shortswords that remains balanced in wind stance, self heals via spells, wands, scrolls and monks wholeness body heal ( or whatever its called ). there should be plenty of left over feats to spread around to go in several directions but mine will prolly be along the lines of a master list like TWF, ITWF, GTWF, finesse, power attack, combat exp, TWD, ICRit - piercing, emp healing, dodge, mobility, spring attack. my starting stats as a drow will look like str 12/dex 18/con 12/int 12/wis 14/char 10. if there are some more experienced people out there that could critique my ideas then please help me out. many thanks in advance.

Blame Salvatore, all fanboys wanna be Drizzt.(I rolled a drow ranger as soon as I unlocked drow, way back when) That aside, there are other much better race options for race, halfling and human most notable. Drow do not shine in either monk or ranger builds. Since you already have the 32 point build unlocked drow are essentially obsolete except for Cha or Int based classes. Short swords are also a sub par weapon, 19-20 x2 crit, only slightly better than unarmed and below base damage of unarmed also. The only build I've seen with more than 1-2 levels of monk that has real good synergy is the f12/8m unarmed kensai, although you could trade one monk level for a rouge level to get UMD for wand whipping heals. I however rarely need to rely on any other healing when I'm soloing on my monk other than fist of light and wholeness of body.

yeah, some of these great points i've already realized but i was just trying to come up w/ some good use out of meshing drow's shortsword enhancement line w/ monk's ninja spy centered shortsword ability. i haven't really seen anything better

also if i was drow i would use rapiers over shortswords your racial enhancements work with rapiers 2, if you cant find a rapier as good as the shortsword you have you can still use the shortsword in your off hand. Elves if since you got 32 ooint builds also are a good race for rangers, And dwarves using dwarven waraxes are also another good option. there are plenty of good elven tempest/dwarven tempest builds on the server, take a look around.

Your right "their good, they are not great"
Maybe one thing is they do not realise that the drow SR is does not scale up as much in ddo as it does in p&p and drow still dont get 32 point builds right? This was not something i got straight off the bat, i had to go look at the race and the enhancements part in the wiki and i went what the hell? their sr is seriously gimped and useless almost as you get higher in level.
