Ottos and mindfog is not as effective as Web, Wail, and Finger plus no graphic lag for the rest of the party. If you cast a spell and someone breaks it there may be a reason other then just to annoy you.

IMHO, trying to damage a quest run for others is just bad form... Because one person was giving you S**T would be no reason to try and kill it for everyone..

Now if this was your party and everyone was messing around have at it and have fun,

But if I was in a party the caster started doing things like that you would make my guilds blacklist real fast.

now in your defence: was it the FvS's party? if so he sould have asked you not to do Ottos and if you were at the crystal and they had respawns for killing them to quick and the shield never went down Type that in Party chat and do them again, there not that hard to drop w/ a good party.

Actually it wasnt the FvS's party, I joined a group that said 'Shroud Run - have fun', and the FvS was the last one to join.

We also had two dwarves in the group, one of whom was a cleric doing the whole thing without any armor on.

I completely understand this point, really i do. Personally i do cast disco in shroud but only 1 at a time and it doesnt effect my game but i can understand how it does effect others. However, it really annoys me when someone just breaks them without saying anything.

Another way to look at it is, maybe your the only one getting problems by it in the group this particular time. disco is deffinatly effective therefore how about you take on for the team rather then just taking control of other peoples spells.

OR!!! just say at the start. hey guys disco gives me problems can you make sure your sorted for something else. at least give them/ us some advance warning.

I can completely empathise with the OP as i have been there myself when i feel im doing my best, and im doing what other people taught me is my role in a quest, and then i feel that someone is "picking" on me.

HOWEVER! OP, i must agree, hassling everyone and doing things like dd on people is not kool. that can have proper consqeuences. I.E dispelling my disco is a PITA, me accidentially being ported back to the beginning is a REAL BIG PROBLEM FOR ME, especially if im not the one giving you stick.

My advice, as unprofessional as it sounds but I always bring it up if i feel someone is having a go at me. Dont start any more of an argument but just say to them "Hey, i was told to disco here and thats the gameplan i always follow. My pc isnt lagging atm so how was i to know your was. any suggestions as to an alternative tatic for me"

Final point.... the tip about FW on the crystal in pt 2 is spot on, once i was told this i found things much better in there. I used to sit there poised with scorching, disinti, frost lance, and polar ready to spam them all dreading what would happen if everyone did their bit but i mucked it up. With FW the crystal smashes instantly the last boss is killed. personally i spam 4-5 on there at 5-10 second intevals then i can mooch about incase something heads in my direction and be sure that if i leave the crystals for 20 secs there will still be a couple of fires burning.

final final points.... im as guilt of it as others but as advised by someone above me.... when annoyed take a deep breath and think of the rest of the group. If you really want to play it a simple message of "Im sorry, im trying my best and doing what i think is right" should at least get the RL agroo off your back. Its easy to forget there are other humans involved when we sit staring at a vud all day

    1) People asked for GH in the first part, so being a team player I got distracted from clearing trash to GH them. I wasnt too bothered until the FVS started telling me off for putting GHs on people instead of clearing trash.

    2) In the second part, I was waiting to FW the crystal. Some people began killing the bosses too early and while I was waiting in the middle, the Bezreika, and shortly after two others respawned on me while the crystal still had its forcefield up. I had to run away towards the rest of the group so I wouldnt die, and the FVS saw me and started blaming me for not being near the crystal after all the stuff had respawned due to everything not being killed in time.

    3) In the first battle with harry, I did what I always do in my shroud runs - put up ottos spheres and mind fogs where the trash spawns to CC them. The FVS began break enchanting the spheres and I had absolutely no idea why or who it was at first. So I simply put up another sphere and fog, and they got broken again, and I realised it was the FVS who was doing that.

    4) I wasnt bothered by any of that until that FVS began blaming me entirely for those three problems rather than focusing on where the problems actually were, since I werent completing I decided to memorise grease + dispel and have some fun at least in the last part since the FVS had ****ed me off too much.

Oh, and she was also telling me off for having a tower shield - I were wielding an upgraded deaths touch and skyvault shield (Not even a tower - Im good at using block + tumble to mitigate damage if I need to), and have bracers of the glacier for spell pen VIII, Shionas pendant for sup potency VI, and use elfcrafted robe for arcane focus. I also have major fire + ice lore daggers, but I dont use them too much as blocking + tumbling with the shield is better for saving myself and I am still grinding to get a phoenix regalia and blue dragonscale armor for crit bonuses instead. I really cant take anyone who tells me off for using that shield seriously anymore and I got even more annoyed over that (quite a few people who think they are pro keep telling me off for using a tower shield because of arcane spell failure).

Who was that FvS? She sure sounds like a.... annnnywayyy...
It does suck when you're doing your job and you get ripped
a new one as if you have absolutely no idea what the hell you're
doing. If I were you - I know I'd be on voice chat tellin that FvS
to mind her business and do her job instead of *****ing the entire
quest. Afterall, it's not your first rodeo! She was probably
dispelling your fogs/discoballs cuz her computer
can't handle the work load of the graphics and she lags..

If you're ever needing a shroud group
please feel free to join any of mine!

To DDOisFree, I figured there'd be an explanation since we ran an epic earlier today and you were far pro-er than what my lagtastic ass was.

I get it. Communication was shaky (as evidenced by part II).

    No hard feelings from me.

I think the whole raid group was genuinely amused in the end.

Now just to make things clear for me - wildly guessing that not *everyone* here games on Atari 2600s - when talking about 'disco ball performance issues' you're talking about latency issues, not GPU issues (I'd logically assume the former, but I noticed some people in this thread specifically mentioning the latter)?

If it wasn’t fail enough that you went rogue (the bad kind – or is that redundant) on us, you even failed to stop us getting a completion.

And we were freaking terrible. I mean 2 (two) people got vorped by Kasquick as we sealed him in.

You only got 1 with your GT.

    Do something right. Noob.

How do I replace my earlier post with this?

PUG farming groups fall apart pretty quickly... I've haven't bothered my guild members with it yet... Instead, I decided to run more Bastions on my high level characters (for the GH clickable in there), and then hand off their planar girds to my new guy.

Default Would be sympathetic but ...

DDOisFree, I would be sympathetic to your plight except for one thing ... you took it out on the party. Griefing is inexcusable. And since you are probably the only Wiz on the server who carries around a Skyvault Shield you might be leery of giving yourself a name.

I will say this about part 4 ... I hate seeing disco balls and giant clouds of god-knows-what. One web and mass hold monster. Maybe chuck a wail for good measure. Then cloud kill and exhaust harry when he drops.

Guys like this FvS **** me off plenty. Be the bigger man.
