New High End Raid loot Suggestion~ The Indentured Servant

So last night I was grinding out slayers in Atraxia with my trusty hireling on my 2nd TR toon, and I had an ingenious idea. How cool would it be to have an end reward with a Gold seal type hireling as an end reward. This wouldn't be just your average hireling though.

This end reward Indentured Servant is a Bound to Character Hireling that is able to be summoned even in a full party of 6. This magnificent hireling never expires and is soul bound to protect you at all costs. You can already summon monsters in quests with full parties of 6 so why not a hireling. You did after all put your life on the line to go in and rescue your servant from the beast that was holding them captive.

I haven't put a whole lot of thought into all the technical details or crunched any numbers for my idea, I will leave that up to the forum community. Its just my suggestion and probably one of the best ideas I've ever thought of regarding the game after playing for almost 5 years.

In a way yes it sort of emulates that. I was thinking more along the lines of a Clickie type hireling "named loot" end reward. The Leadership thing seems more like a skill or feat.

Well, it is a feat, I simply meant the Cohort more or less.

Personally, I feel that having this tied to a feat would be too much, and I believe if Cohorts are added, all players should have access to them regardless of their feats.

lol, I know everyone has access to them I am Suggesting a Uber Hireling that

1: Never expires + meaning no running to the marketplace, or house k to buy another.

2: is able to be summoned even in a full party + same as I can summon an Earth Elemental in a full party

Never found to be too useful...
I personally use hirelings only when I need a dead weight (literally) on some slab or to pull a leaver or some such.
So, for me this will be a meh at best.

OR make monsters that can heal you.

Summon them.

Like a floating orb monster thing that casts heals on you like your life depends on it.

See, On topic, still relevant, and you can nod to it and say "Yeah, arti-dog's.. My idea." With only 4 or 5 points in bluff and pull it off.

This is a nice idea.

Many many people use hirelings regularly for far more than standing on runes/lever pulling.

BUT Please don't tie this into gear - We already have enough problems consolidating gear slots.

My choice would be to allow a favour reward to give permanent use of a single hireling {player's choice} which would then level up alongside that player.
My choice would be dependant on lvl of character when favour reward was hit:

Zaghar Everstar {Lvl 9-10}
Nimeth Celibel or Shadow {Lvl 11-12}
Marissa Lorle {Lvl 13-14}
Dheran Giles or Fira Greylocke {Lvl 15-16}
Tempys Lorben {Lvl 17-18}
Isadora Ironclaw {Lvl 19-20}

Hirelings of Lvl 1-6 Probably wouldn't get chosen as Favour reward would not be hit this early. Though they could be chosen if looking at future lives.

Upon TRing Hireling would also reset to Lvl 1 and Level alongside his/her Player meaning that a first life player would have a maximum lvl 17 Hireling but upon TRing would be able to take that Hireling to Lvl 20. {No Epic Levels for Hirelings}.

Rangers - Maybe dog types (wolves, etc...), bird types (eagles, hawks, etc...), cat types (panther, etc...)

Wizards - Maybe smaller bird types (parrots, etc...), others.

Druids - of course

Not all classes should have companions as it does not play into the D&D theme.

Cool idea. Uber Permanent hirelings. Would they scale to level and how many could you have active at once? Would they work in raids? Could we get a Companion contract of X race or class that we get to customize besides race or class?
