Ransacked chests issues

What's the deal with these? I had no issues last night with chests, however today it's being ********. I looted one chest 3 times in about an hour and got nothing at all on the third time. The second time I looted it(about 25 mins after the first time) it stated I had looted it too often and I got less stuff. The third time(about 50 mins after first loot) I got nothing at all. There was a second chest in the same area that I was also grabbing. I looted it twice in about 20 mins and got NO penalty at all. *** is up with these? Why did one chest carry a heavy penalty and the other no penalty at all? They were both chests from rare spawns in a wilderness area. Also, why did I suddenly have a problem today and not a problem yesterday?

A 7 day timer? Are you freaking kidding me? That's the most ******** thing I have ever heard out of any MMO. I guess it's time to cancel my VIP here, cause that's just ridiculous. I can see a few hours, maybe a day at max....but a whole week? Man, I regret spending all that money on DDO points now. It could have been spent on something much better.

It's 7 days from the first time you looted the chest. At the absolute worst (ransacked in one day) you would have to wait 7 days.

For example, if you open the chest on Monday, ransack it on Sunday, you will be off ransack the next day (Monday).

I challenge you to pick any quest level above 5, and ransack all the chests in quests of that level in one week. I would be very surprised if you succeeded.

It's easy to ransack chests, already ran into this problem a few times. I can see a lock on end chests in raids and such. Raids have a 2 day 18hr cooldown already (yes I already knew about that one) so it's kind of hard to ransack them. But random chests such as the ones in wilderness areas are very easy to ransack. You can do that in one day. It's a ridiculous cooldown for the random chests, but something I can see as being needed on certain ones. This makes me think the dev's are lazy and don't want to write multiple codes for different chests, but instead just use one universal script to handle them all. Maybe I should have been more clear on my first post about what chests I'm directly referring to. Either way, my reasoning is my own and I need not any of your approvals for it. I pay for my account, not you, and I do not need to justify anything to any of you. Instead of getting on here and flaming maybe you should take that time to do something more useful. I didn't ask for opinions, nor do I want them. Your opinions mean nothing to me. I asked a question and got my answer. That's all I wanted to know. So for the one person who actually answered me and didn't come on here acting like a child, thank you.

Yes, you asked a question and got an answer. THEN you posted your opinion on that answer. That kind of thing leads to the "flaming" etc. I would think you would know that by now.

As for the ransack rule, yes, it sucks...but I'm sure it's there to keep people from running the same thing over and over and over and over again thus forcing them to go run something else. As well I'm sure it keeps everyone from being super-uber-rich and have everything under the sun as far as gear goes. In simple terms, it gives players goals.

And you're right, you pay for your account, not any of us. But like so many people who don't like something in the game, you threaten (in this case lightly) to take your money and go elsewhere. Either accept the rules and enjoy the game for what it is, or don't play. The ransack rule has been there for a couple of years now. Yes, it may be stupid, but it's part of the game so get over it.
