    Default Dorf. Just Dorf.

DISCLAIMER: I'm sure similar build(s?) has been posted before, haven't stumbled upon one yet tho.

I thought about posting it over at the Dwarf forum, as this character is more of a DWARF than a Favored Soul.

A stout lazy package of meat, muscle and beard, wanting only a casual style of life - a beer, woman, and a frenzied berserker ToD ring. Well, if he'll get a ravager, he'll be a happy beard too.

Happened to pick up a FvS profession, as it suits his goals of caual laziness. He will stroll through Sins of Attrition, to absent-mindedly pick up all the large scales while chewing on beef jerky. Of which scales he will only need 5 (weapon-wise), because always securing his future in matter of minimum energy expenditure, he thoughtfully choose to wield a greataxe.

    Dorf, Level 20 FvS Dwarf

    Stats:
    Strength 17 (32) = 5 level ups + 6 item + 2 exc + 2 tome
    Dumpstat 8
    Constitution 20 (30) = 2 enhancement + 2 tome + 6 item
    Dumpstat 8
    Dumpstat 8
    Kinda dumpstat too 9 (19) = 2 tome + 2 cap + 6 item (add enhancements to taste)

    Tomes:
+2 Tome of Supreme Chillout used at level 7

    Skills:
    Balance 10
    Concentration 24
    Jump 13

So, few level ups of concentration have been skipped in favor of jump. Owell. Turn quicken on, press W. Chew on that jerky. If a LR will be on order, I'll skip on jump, and put all in conc.

    Feats:
    1 Sovereign Host, Maximize
    3 Greataxe
    6 Toughness
    9 Power Attack
12 Quicken (Blade Barrier is priority before melee for me)
    15 IC: Slashing
    18 Empower

    Enhancements:
    Dwarven Axe Attack II
    Dwarven Axe Damage II
    Dwarven Constitution II
    Favored Soul Improved Empowering II
    Racial Toughness IV
    Favored Soul Toughness IV
Favored Soul Prayer of Life III
Favored Soul Prayer of Incredible Life III
    Favored Soul Life Magic IV
Favored Soul Wand and Scroll Mastery IV
    Favored Soul Ascendency: Sovereign Host
Favored Soul Energy of the Scion I
    Favored Soul Damage Boost I

Full zerg mode little inexpensive rascal, I love him already. Flyig on the wings of freedom. Sporting 600ish HP and 10 DR, staying alive through 'just stand there and swing' epic DQ strategy has never been easier (evasion my a**). Lazy as he is, he will probably settle just on his Min II GA, switching imp. crit. out for extend, a dream of every easygoing divine.

He needs to heal for people to keep giving him shiny things, so he's quite good at that. He will kill, and he will heal. And I tried with all my weak will not to add 'that's the deal' at the end of previous sentence.

My postulate is, everyone on each server should roll one of these, and just chill out together in peace.

If the aforementioned LR will be in order, it is not impossible Dorf will end up 16/15/18/8/8/10 2/18 ftr/fvs split, swapping out greataxe feat in conjunction with 2 fighter bonus feats to get TWF line and swing 2 dwarven axes. But that would be not lazy enough, so for now he is as he is.

Looks alright...if you want to splash, try 17/2/1 Fvs/monk/fighter. Then you can get TWF line, and swap greataxe to empower heal. Still have 2k+ sp. Evasion, BB, melee dps. Yummy.

... and no Mass Heal, so you'd better carry a bunch of mana potions for healing raids, and never ask for people to replace them, as they were only used due to your poor character building
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

I interested in a 17/2/1 Fvs/monk/fighter, melee focused build, to TR into from a pure fighter. Currently a Dwarf, but would consider Human (for feats) or Warforge if the advantages were there. Are there any builds like that I could review?

Have a 16fvs/2monk/2paladin, draguul on ghallanda.
Very robust and survivable with 600hp 40/34/30 unbuffed saves and melee gtwf dps chains.

Similiar to the 17fvs/2monk/1ftr, except hes more aimed at higher saves than the feat + wings. I'd personally think 17cleric/2monk/1ftr would be a better toon with implosion/mass heal available as well as fitting in extend and the GTWF/PA/Max/emp/empheal/quicken/power attack.

Mass cure works great if you are not a total noob with the way you heal I'm just saying; I have 3 healers. 2 with Mass heal and 1 without.

I can understand the monk 2 splash, but ftr 1 costs you a lvl 9 spell (probably Mass Heal); are you sure you're willing to give that up for a single feat?

Cute concept. I have a hybrid heal/offensive fvs dorf and I love him but was considering melee on a TR eventually.

It ends up being two free feats because of fighter weapon proficiences.

Mass Heal is great however you can get by just fine on the Mass Cures. I have Mass Heal and rarely use it anyway.

forgive the newb question, but how does this character cast any spells at lower levels? Does the progression of better magic items and enhancements keep up with the spell level the character would be able to cast? Do you need the +2 tome at character creation to keep up or can you add it later?

    Thanks.

+2 tomes can only be eaten at lvl7 at the earliest now. You shouldn't really need to cast many spells in the first few levels, but you can buy a stack of eagle's splendor pots and drink those starting at lvl2 to be able to cast buffs. Later on you'll have the tome, a +6 item, and some enhancements.

Just throwing out an idea. Mass heal is the biggest debate in the divine corner - I love it, but plenty of "vets" don't use it even now.

Not many choices for a pure fvs melee, with feats being the issue.

How is this build working out for you so far? Anything you feel is lacking? I'm close to TRing my 34pnt dwarf cleric into a 36pnt fvs similar to this build. Some differences that I'm considering are taking empower healing instead of empower and taking extend instead of improved crit slashing (I have a min2 greataxe). Also, I'm not dumping wisdom completely so my blade barriers are still farely effective. My stat layout is gonna look like this

    Str: 16 / 32
    (7item, 1lotd, 1exc, 2tome, 5lvlup)
    Dex: 8 / 18
    (7item, 1lotd, 2tome)
    Con: 18 / 32
    (6item, 1lotd, 3exc, 2tome, 2enh)
    Int: 10 / 13
    (1lotd, 2tome)
    Wis: 16 / 30
    (6item, 1lotd, 3exc, 2tome, 2enh)
    Cha: 10 / 20
    (6item, 1lotd, 2tome, 1enh)

You've built one already. Any thoughts?
