Backspace (or assignable) for "reply to tell"

I must have made a *** of myself umpteen times by reflexively hitting backspace to reply to private tells, only to find I've said something in General or Advice or Say. Is there some hidden key for that?

And while I'm at it, why do emotes and things like that only show up in the General window?

Apart from these and a few other little niggles, loving the game!

Anything that doesn't go in the window that you're currently on immediately goes to General unless you tell it otherwise by typing /g (guild) /p (party) etc.
Each chat tab has a specific Outgoing focus. Check them, and alter them if needed, by right clicking on the specific tab.
