Default Best class combination for 4 players?

What is the best combination of classes to play as a four player group?
The only restriction being that ALL characters must be Warforged.

    My current thinking is:

Favoured Soul Melee Spec'd (20) -- Second Line Fighter -- Blade Barrier -- Mass Healing & Raise etc
    Wizard/Rogue (19/1) -- Traps -- Buffs (Haste/Blur) etc -- Offensive Spells -- Repair Spells
Ranger (possibly Kensai splashed) -- Front Line Fighter -- Scouting -- Some Buffs (Barkskin / Resistances etc)
Bard Warchanter (probably splashed with Barbarian or Fighter) -- Second Line Fighter -- Buffs

This presents some synergy between the characters with the FvS and the Wiz/Rog taking up the main healing duties and the Bard and Ranger doing most of the fighting.

However I have been considering Sorceror and Paladin as useful additions (and in a six player group they would be) but am I right to leave them out of the 4 player group? If not, then which other class should I drop and why?

Would welcome any feedback on this.
Any thoughts about what your ideal 4 would be?

The four you've listed would work quite well together. Ranger-wise, I'd probably do a 12/8 split.

You could also look at the Wiz/Rog adding a bit of fighter to provide some shadow-mage dps support.

But the 4 you listed are quite good.

Id say 1st member pure fvs is good...your wiz should be an 18/2 wiz/rog taking rogue levels at 1 and 10ish...and be sure to take the insighful reflexes feat.....than a tank/dps toon(many options here)......lastly a bard cant hurt...so really just make the wiz 18/2 instead of 19/1 and it should be good

Note: A well made battle cleric/monk can make an excellent front line fighter and that way everyone can self heal....also just be sure to bring a sorc hireling along

My ideal four would be pure fvs melee, pure sorcerer, 17 wizard/2 rogue/1 barbarian, 12 fighter/6 barbarian/2 rogue stunner.

it really helps going wiz/rog 18/2 because you get evasion... otherwise looks good

Wow! Thanks for the quick replies.
It's good to know that we're not too far off the mark. We'll be starting the group in the next week, so just wanted to see if anyone had any major variations or reasons why a sorceror or paladin etc might be a better fit for the group.

I agree with what you all say about two levels of rogue.
That's a better split, probably will take the 2nd level at 13th after getting Reconstruct.

    Cheers

Most importantly, don't forget to play on Thelanis.

And I agree on the 2 rogue with insightful reflexes.

1a) Warforged-- Barb - max damage THF - greataxe
1b) Warforged-- Ranger - max damage TWF - khopesh

    2) Warforged-- Sorc (or wiz) - caster + 2nd barb healer

3a) halfling-- 2 rogue 18 bard - full song buffs, halfling companion for the extra boss fight dps, almost every trap in the game.
3b) warforged/dwarf-- 2 rogue 18 bard -- full songs and most traps, decent to high damage output

    4) Human favored soul (race is moot, i like human for healers, but wf works or whatever) favored soul for the extra spell points, allows for more spell points to offensively cast. (i like fvs over clerics, but again some sort of healer class) get empowered healing early on, helps heal the warforged

Just what I would do. There are endless possibilities

I think my favorite 4 man combo of WF woudl be-

Pure THF Barbarian, with Stunning blow

    2Rogue/18Wizard

    2F/2Barb/16Bard Warchanter

    Pure Sorc

    --------

make two more friends and get another SB Barb in there and a pure FVS ^.^
    Eulogy- oh ninety eight

    -1 WF 20 Barb, THF
    -1 WF Monk, Dark
    -1 WF 12 fighter/6 ranger/2 rogue, TWF khopesh/traps
-1 WF 20 Wiz or Sorc, mass repair spells/nuke

imo the bb of fvs doesnt mesh well with melees, because melees need em to hold still while fvs needs em to move around. i put rogue on the melee so your pure caster can have the right spell for the right quest, because it often gets the thing you need just as you reach quest level (like how wiz gets banish at 13 for invaders, or sorc gets GH/disintegrate for wiz king at 12/13)

but to be honest, if the players are skilled, they can roll any toon whatsoever and do just fine. just make one of them an arcane or healer

3 Rogues and a FvS sounds good to me

    Fighter, Blackbelt, Blackmage, Whitemage.

The Redmage is meh as it doesnt get that powerful, and the Thief is a joke.

Also, dont bother leveling before killing Garland, just walk into his castle and put him down right off the bat.

    All WF?

    1: Barb THF
    2: Melee THF FvS
    3: Sorc Pure
    4: Wiz\Rogue 18\2

You will Zerg behind the Barb and FvS until you get Firewall, then behind Arcanses until you get Blade Barrier, then just Zerg until you get to epic.

Bards are not better then any of these options for a zerging party.
