    Default Good TR Build?

I wanna TR my lvl 20 and I need a few build ideas. Her past life was as a ranger and not really a good DPS. More so a gimp-a-long. I would love for her to be a ranger build again as a tempest ranger. Should I do with the exploit build or choose a different build?

well, with a past life ranger feat, what about a WF DPS Kensai? you'll get 2 extra build points so you can max out STR and con, something like

    STR 18
    DEX 14
    CON 18
    INT 10
    WIS 6
    CHA 6

you can use a past life feat for the temporary strength boost, coupling that with power surge for some ridiculous strength. Something to consider.

If you have your heart set on ranger, then the exploiter is not a bad way to go.

If I were to make another melee ranger I would prolly base it loosely off either:

    Str based:

    or

    Dex based:

Probably a good idea to plan out what you have now and post it in the ranger boards for critique.

If you have the AC gear already then the Exploter build can be a lot of fun to relevel. However, I have to ask, why not do a lesser reincarnation (with an alignment change if necessary)?

    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.

Well to answer all the questions the orig. plan was to go with the exploit build but not as a trap monkey but more of a UMD person. After playing a bit more I figured sure UMD is nice but leave the healing and spells to the caster types. So as it stands I am stuck. I prefer rangers due to the fact I have always played one in the past... just never a "tempest ranger." Besides the greensteel bracers I made was for the orig. build so they are the WIZ 6 and ex CHA with a raise dead clicky at tir 2. So I figured I can keep them if I stick to a ranger build and just use them for the SP and add my extra +6 STR to my belt and not the bracers.

As far as LRing.... I would but I just dont have the points or the money to do such a thing. I want my ranger as a TR and I planned on the LR for my lvl 19 cleric cause I started on a "battle Cleric" build till lvl 12. A bit SP squishy for some of the more... demanding... areas of the game.

Well here is my orig. build that my friend worked up for me for the exploit / UMD:

    Elf 18 Ranger / 1 Rogue / 1 Fighter
Start stat TR 34 point build

    STR 16
    DEX 14
    CON 14
    INT 12
    WIS 12
    CHA 12

Take first lvl rogue (maxing UMD then adding rest where needed)
6 lvls of ranger (adding 2 enhancement points to UMD per lvl = total of UMD +1)
8th lvl as fighter (no UMD boost)
Rest ranger (4 points to UMD per lvl = total of UMD +2)
Lvl up the build as Tempest ranger and gather the UMD items within the game to get about a 51 UMD at lvl 20.

I honestly was not so sure of this build and decided to wait longer untill after U5. Now I'm thinking of trying a less UMD orianted.
