    Default Assassin and AA rolled into one.

    This is my first entirely planned out build so be nice, I probably forgot something important.
    The thought is to make a functioning assassin that can also be decent in ranged. I managed to fit in the entire Arcane archer line plus a few elven enhancements. The build also have assassin 3 for meleeing stuff that gets to close. The thought is going for max str but still being able to hit stuff. Main regret is that I couldnt fit in Shot on the run.

    The order of the feat selection might be changed I think I'll want twf earlier.

    Updated it after some more thinking, Sorc instead of wiz for extra sp, more STR, less INT and DEX

    As a AA, do you really need to pick up every Imbue X Arrows? Wouldn't it be more effective to pick 2/3 max and then use the other enhancement points on something else? Like Possibly Arcane Archer II?

    Yes I do as they are prereq for slaying arrows(which is the main point going AA). There is no AA2, the toon I have here will have almost every AA enhancement(might actually have every, I think the only one not needed for slaying arrow is force burst arrow).

    I toyed around with the idea of an assassin AA, I went a different route though at 13 rogue 6 ranger 1 fighter. The amount of feats you can get with the 6 ranger levels is very nice for an archer build that wants a bit of versatility.

    Yeah looks solid enough, I'm planning to make it a RadII assassin though so I need 18 lvls of rouge for Assassin3 and 19 adds to my sneak attack.

    After some thinking I will probably switch my wiz lvl to sorc for increased sp. I can take the sorc sp enhancement instead of mental toughness to get the prerequisite for the AA.

    I may be wrong but I thought you only needed mt or an arcane spell caster lvl to get aa as an elf, as you get the elf arcane feat thing for free when you take the wiz/sorc lvl as an elf and this would give you an extra feat for other things (like toughness). But its been a few months since I looked at the aa PrE, and I may be confusing the one of section with the all of section in the requirements list. otherwise this build looks solid.

    Wizard splash would let him meet his AA pre-req w/out MT, but it also gets him a free metamagic. What would you suggest other than MT, given that he will only have lvl 1 wizard spells and needs SPs to power his imbues?

    Re: wizard w/MT vs sorcerer splash - good idea to crunch the numbers to see which gets you more SPs.

    Given the change to TWF...

    Wouldn't you be better off to drop TWF at 18, and take Toughness Or do you not have any spare AP to spend on HP?

    By being true neutral I'm assuming you would have been SB the rest of the way for Light and Darkness.

    I just figured that Id get enough extra hits with TWF for it to draw my melee dps a fair bit up on bosses, with the sneak and all. The alignment was mainly so I can use litany in case i stumble upon it, I don't see why I would ever want to use light and darkness.

    If i could hit well enough without TWF I would take toughness but I doubt I would.

    I'm not sure about what you're trying to say here. I wont get any extra feat from being sorc or wiz(wiz gets a class feat: that feat cannot be toughness). I dont need mt, I can take one of the enhancements for sp instead, and that is probably what I'll do, I'll take sorc and take the elf sp enhancement.


    Hmm maybe I should get my str a bit higher and leave dex at 16, int at 8.. This toon wont be much of a trapper anyhow.

    I just took the TWF to decrease the penalties for dual wielding, I don't imagine Ill gain a huge lot other than that. Feels daft not to dual wield when 90% your melee dps comes from SA
