    Partycrashers is my favorite new quest so far this year. I really like the various optionals that aren't part of the quest completion, especially the wheel in the theater.

    One question about the wheel. In running through it a few times, I've some across one that had me stumped for a minute or two. I know that a couple of the scenes are not obvious, but the stage notes gave me 'The hero heals up in House Jorasco'. What I found to be the corresponding scene is a major stretch for Jorasco. I wouldn't mind a few more scenes added in to make it a puzzle to be solved instead of trial-and-error.

    Imagine yourself in House J looking at the exit into the marketplace while standing on the little bridge over the pond next to mirra's quest. now imagine that scene in 2d relief. I think its actaully a decent representation, if a bit stylized.

    Not all of the locations on the wheel are used in every solution and they may be used more than once.

    I do love this quest and may get called a fool for this, but I have yet to solve the wheel part after 4 runs. Any tips? What I have been doing is finding which scene aligns with which symbol and doing them in order of the notes but I get nothing. I am sure I am over thinking this but I am just not seeing what it is.

    The selector window is on the bottom of the wheel for some reason, but these indicators are taken by which symbol is on TOP (since that's how every other wheel in the game works):

    Yellow = Grave
    White = Ship
    Green = Ruins
    Orange = Harbor/Stormreach
    Red = Korthos
    Blue = House J

    Anyhow, the questions.

    1) Are there any Wizzy spells my level more effective than others on the illusionary mobs?

    2) I made the mistake of not having Jump in my repitoire the first time. I assume this would be a great help to me on my next attempt. (Theatre?)

    3) I was able to do the room with the Giant easy enough by kiting all the illusionary mobs and having the fighter merc pick them off 1x1. Is that the best approach solo?

    4) Any other advice that might help a newbie Wizzy here?

    Thanks in advance,

    Glad I read this. Was soloing with a lvl 9 Monk and finding it really easy. Almost didn't take damage the whole quest. Then the end fight was like "Holy ****". Almost got pwned.

    I'll look around more next time, lol.

    First - all the people who said TS is required - why? My first time through I just muscled it.

    High? I successfully bluffed with heroism, +5 bluff item, voice, and a 06 charisma (= +6 total).

    Been doing this quest for over four months and only now learned there's a use for diplomacy in here too. I love this quest.

    Spoiler

    There is a diplomacy "optional" if you talk to the phiarlan retainers around malior. Succeeding at the diplomacy check makes them walk away with him pouting a little. This significantly reduces the amount of damage you take while fighting him in the library, and means the arcane can pike for that fight. It does mean that you dont have allies when you come to fight megris in there afterwards.

    This means its now feasible to do this quest without intimidate or bluff, as long as you dont mind fighting 3 red names at the end. Means fewer lvl 20 trash chests though.

Epic DC for the hardest intimidate is somewhere in the 36-39 range ie "I bothered with this skill for trash control, but I'm not a dedicated intimitank". I dont know what the DCs are for bluff.
    for epic:
    Malior: intimidate DC 35 (had fail on 34, success on 35)
    Drink retainer: intimidate DC 30 (had fail on 29, success on 30)

    Talking Party Crashers

    I recently ran this quest on my level 6 fighter with a rogue & a cleric hireling. I didn't 'use' bluff or diplomacy and was able to complete all but one of the optional quests with no problems. The -last- fight was a gnarly one, though!!

    I never did figure out the scenery. I know I was missing something but have no idea what. I took off her armor and did a jump pot to get the gallery and the stage, but felt stupid that I couldn't figure out the scenery.

    I take it there is a way to avoid the illusionarium??? I had no clue.

    First off holy thread Necropolis Orchard of the Macabre batman!!!!

    Secondly, I have since gone on to figure out this quest inside and out, and it now does not take me that long to do and has since become one of my favorite quests to run .

    *holds on to Disruptors for dear life*

    I shouldn't even be here!

    And no, the skill checks are not that hard to meet. If you play on Normal, anyone with max ranks alone is probably enough. If you play on hard, you might need a decent related stat or a good item. If you play on elite, you need max ranks, a good related stat and a good item, but it is still manageable. Elite is for the best of the best. If you ain't the best of the best, you ain't elite.
    I agree 110%. Another great example is the Blockade.

    Actually, that is Epic, not Elite.

    I soloed this on my monk at level and got totally hammered at the end fight and ended up downing 2 cakes to get done. I wasn't trying to zerg at all, and spotted the waitress chick but couldn't figure out how to get her into the room that I needed. This info is really useful, and now that I know that this is a unique quest mechanism I can go back and enjoy it.

    My one gripe is that on the first pass it takes a long time to make it to the endfight and then to get presented with an unfinishable endpoint due to (in my case) Red dungeon alert was infuriating. I went from no DA to Red almost instantly. I have been TRing a fair amount these days an I have to say that DA is bs when you can go all the way to red from the normal spawns in a quest. I can't imagine what newer players go through when this happens, party wipe, start over.

    I understand Turbine's need to keep certain zerging activities down, but this is a perfect example of how poorly implemented DA is. T

    I honestly felt kind of bad about my initial statements that I wrote in the OP.

    It really shows that I became a poorer player by not overcoming this, the game is not supposed to be a brute force zerg fest and is supposed to be about mentality, tactics, and figuring stuff out too.

    Like I said with a little help from some kind and wise forumites, this has gone on to become one of my favorite quests.

    Just going to show that even tho this place gets quite political and opinionated sometimes....the DDO forums are still a great place to come for anyone in a bit of a jam.

    I was a little perturbed that they changed the picture of the ship to a picture of a big brown blotch which apparently represents Khorvaire. Still love the quest, but noticed a silly, self-defeating change and thought it should be pointed out.

    Find the last optional. It is possible to have no fight at the end.

    With regards to the scenery puzzle, notice that the marker is on the bottom, not the top. That threw me off. Also, you don't have to use all scenes, and some of the scenes can repeat.

    You get an optional mob and an extra chest, you don't need it to get by the illusionarium. For that you just need jump skill.
