Greensteel Slots?

I'm trying to decide where to put my greensteel items on my warchanter. I'm assuming the item I want first is a 45hp radiance guard followed by a SP conc opp cha skills item.

Boots seem like a bad spot due to Madstone Boots and Anger's Gift set. Gloves are spectral. Swapping Minos in the head slot for 45hp means I'm only netting 25hp from the item.

That seems to point me to bracers and cloak. But am I going to want to be wearing warchanter cloak? Where do you recommend greensteel for bards?

Same deal as my rogue, I went bracers as my immunity item and cloak for my hp item. Every other slot is used for good raid loot. If i were to make a third item, such as a cha umd item for the rogue, i'd go neck slot, seems to be the third weakest.

I went conc opp goggles and min 2 bracers on my bard. I also use epic fighting leathers to make up some of the sneak attack damage from tharnes. With toughness on the leathers, this combination of gear also frees up my helmet slot for GS immunities and I just always keep the bard's cloak on.


I think if I was starting fresh without access to the leathers I would go conc opp sp bracers and earth/radiance/air hp cloak, praying for an early tharnes pull.

On my warchanter, I was planning on the glove and boot slot. It sucks having to give up Spectrals, but I wasn't planning on Madstone anyhow since I'm going for a decent level of healing capability.

Bracers seem good, but I was aiming for Bracers of the Glacier.

Bracers of glacier are okay but there's nothing really vital on them. You really want the torc as your spell penn item if you have 16+ bard levels and you can scroll fire/cold sheild any time you want it. Archmagi only gives 50 extra sp with wiz VI on your conc opp item and you can swap in an amrath belt for that 50 sp if it's really important to you.

Suppose that's true. Spell penn doesn't matter for me since the only CC I'll be doing is Otto's Irresistible Dance, but Archmagi and the Fireshield guard really appealed to me. Spectrals are easier to get, though, so I suppose using the Bracer slot will be less of a headache.

I went goggles fro my 1st and gloves for my 2nd. I have 3 pairs of gloves I use depending on my role. Buffing I use the gloves that reduce extend sp by 2, healing I use the eternal gauntlets from GH (9% crit +50% on crits), GS gloves for everything else.

I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with my HP item. How effective is the earthgrab item when it procs? Do monsters save often?

I was thinking either earthgrab, or radiance guard. Heck, I was even considering Balance of Land and Sky, since the elemental mastery seems like it could be good. Then again, earthgrab doesn't need a double-shard, so that seems to be a pretty compelling argument...

Actually, Spell pen is all that matters with Otto's Irresistable. It doesn't allow a save, so DC doesn't matter, but it is subject to spell resistance.

Balance looks like a waste of larges to me. Only the shock will do anything against devils. If you're going to go dual-shard, I'd go with lightning strike, radiance, or Conc opp.

I put my GS on cloak [HP] and gloves [SP]. Spectral gloves attack bonus doesn't stack with Inspire Greatness, so that didn't seem a big loss. The +4 from epic Spectrals might be nice, though.

I have a Spellsinger, but here is what I have done:

1st greensteel- SP item, goggles
2nd greensteel- HP item, cloak
3rd greensteel (coming soon)- some immunities, superior healing lore, gloves (to replace my reaver raid ones)
Bracers slot I would also consider, as there is nothing bardly spectacular for it at endgame (currently wearing Leviks)


Neck slot I use for the craptastic TOD set, keep hoping they will finish out the bard PREs and update the set bonus to something more useful.
