The song is actually a Russian folk song called "Korobushka". Interesting fact from EGM game history: the creator of Tetris, Alexey Pajitnov didnt release the game at the start because he was too addicted to playing it.

With a little more research i found out the song is about a Russian boy with a heavy load of goods on his shoulders that he is trying to sell without dropping them, until the end he has nothing left. just like the clearing of lines in Tetris
