    Default DDO Memorable Soundtracks?

I was on Youtube last night searching for Final Fantasy X (Probably the best RPG ever made), Breath of Fire and Secret of Mana music. Just taking a stroll down memory lane, I love to hear soundtracks of games. Anyway that got me thinking, where are all the memorable soundtracks in DDO? FF Online has great ones, even WoW has some pretty good ones.

The one I like most is in Vale where the bats are, but that is pretty much the only one. I guess VoN 6 isn't bad, but I have to turn of the music to hear the strategy and what is going on. I usually turn off in-game music and open my own play list from other games. Mostly I do this when slaying, or trying something really hard like soloing Epic or Amrath Elite (Nope haven't been able to do either yet, but I will eventually).

Anywho, I guess I love to see some really great soundtracks for this game, a desert theme, Ice games theme, I don't know. I just want something I can listen to years down the road and remember all the great times I had on DDO.

I was just thinking about this today...

We need Boss fights to have awesome fight music.

Its true that we usually turn music and sound effects waaay down to hear those people with really low mics.

but even turned down it can be awesome to have great music.

That, and make Every Boss Unique and cool looking. Just finished The Setinels "raid" the other night and was pretty disappointed with the end boss fight. Was kinda hoping for a tentacle monster to come out the water with Melees having to attack the tentacles while Casters fired Magefire Cannons at them when all the tentacles were dealt with (making it vulnerable) and zombie pirates kept coming out in waves during the fight. The monster would keep banging on the deck forcing everyone to make balance checks, while the rogue would have to go back and forth with Power shards to power that Cannons the hadn't yet been destroyed. Hehe... i guess i got a little carried away there.

I'll have to turn my music back on in game as now I'm curious. Usually I turn ddo's music off in a fit of rage after listening to that horrid marketplace song for more than 30 seconds.

Funny you should mention Final Fantasy music. I have a tendency to listen to The Black Mages while soloing dungeons or slayer areas. The boss music works really well.

There is a link somewhere on the DDO site where you can download mp3s of music. The tavern stuff is fun to listen to when I'm not in game.

On another note, no pun intended, you can find a ton of FF/Square music on http://www.bluelaguna.net. If I'm not mistaken, it may also have piano transcriptions in .pdf format.

Yeah, I only heard their Jenova remix which I thought was awesome. Doesn't seem like the link is working, keep getting the 404 Error.

A lot of the music in DDO is downright boring. After the 100th replay of 'Harbor' you tend to switch it off. However, there are a few exceptions. As you've mentioned VoN 6 is wonderful to hear especially when you're whacking on the dragon. My personal favourite is Eye of The Titan and Path of Inspiration both of which are from IQ. The song from Mark of The Dragon (the one with Lockania) is also a personal favourite. I can't remember any of the others because they were basically bland background music whereas the ones I mentioned above actually made me get the feeling that 'I can do anything!!'. Lol.
In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.
