Default My problem seems to have no solution!

Ok, so 4 months ago DDO runned normaly; although as I runned a kind of sloppy Windows XP computer, I had to play on the low graphics but still, I didn't have any problems with laggs or anything like it

Well, then it started... the laggs were infernal, my HD was on 60% of free space and I had 1,2 GB of ram... I couldn't see what was wrong, I tried to disable as many graphical thingys such as texture and all as possible, but still, the laggs persisted

I rebooted the computer, and the first thing was to install DDO again. I was optimistic, but my hopes were shattered when all the lagging started. Again, I reduced everything to the very minimal, but I still face the same problems...

I'd like to know if there's anyhing wrong I can fix in my program before calling the technical support again to check my computer

    Thanks in advance!

What type of graphics card are you using? Does it meet minimum spec for DDO?

Well, yes, but it matches them correctly

But I don't think it's something like that that is the problem, since I used to play it normaly, like, 4 months ago... on the low graphics section, tho, but I didn't have laggs or anything

    Hey mate.

First like to say that DDO has been laggy for most people of late, Do you get major lag in instances (Dungeons) on your own?

Try going to options and advance GFX setting and the 2 option at the bottom, slide right back. The top one controls how much DDO caches in memory and you only having 1.2 gb should have it set low.

The bottom one is crowd control. It controls how many people DDO will allow on screen in your immediate area. It simple switches them to low quality gfx mode if there's many on screen and reduces lag in towns.

A great tip to reduce load lag and mouse movement lag is to go into options/troubleshoot and reduce the max FPS down to about 35. Mess with it a bit and find the sweet spot for your system. Games like DDO can have FPS spikes when lots of people are on screen or just a lot of GFX. 1 minute you can be at 80fps and the next 20 and this causes movement lag when looking around with the mouse. All the setting does is keep the frame rate lower so the spike is less noticeable. I find 45 and you cant notice much difference to if you where getting 120fps. Try it!

Any shadowing will kill your FPS so turn it all off. Turn off post processing also.

Make sure your Chip-set drivers are up to date and the same with DirectX. Also make sure you have the most upto date gfx drivers for your card, this doesn't always mean the latest, it just means the best for your card and if its an old one then support has probably be discontinued so having the latest drivers can sometimes have negative effects.

Do a google search with the name of your GFX card and put after it: Best Drivers. E.G "Geforce 8800 best drivers"

If you are unsure how to tell what Motherboard (chip-set drivers) you have or GFX card then use a free program by Piriform called "Speccy" which tells you all you need to know about what's inside your computer.

Good luck. Let us know if you have any success.

Well, I followed your adive and made those changes to the FPS and it's much better! Although still laggy

The technical assistance guy will come here today, and maybe he can switch my video card for a better one so I don't have to suffer the immense pain of constant laggs

Thanks a lot for the help!
