Default DDO Store has another superior to in game item now...

The new cure potion is the best healing pot without penalty in the game and it is only available in the DDO store. This adds to the list of best in the game only available in the DDO store of...

    Airships
    Bags
    Quivers
    Mana Pots

With the additional items that just plain improve your character over what is available without the DDO store....

    Stat Pots
    Bunny Hats

Turbine has taken another step closer to true micro-transaction games today where the best is only available from the store.

Been preaching the slippery slope chant for some time now. Often gets derided as tin hat paranoia, but as things evolve that paranoia seems more and more well founded.

I will be interested to see if they find some way to make/justify those potions in game, since they break all the nominal potion rules in the base game. At least it is only another incremental boost, instead of a complete binary Store (can do)/ Not Store (Cannot do) type thing.

    hehe, I agree man.

The whole game is jacked up to mmo proportions. Long gone were the days of actaully being D&D. I suppose just cope with it, in that it's another way for someone to make money, or bust out the old hardback books if you need a fix It's now just another mmo. Treat it like one.
Q&A is the business of pointing out others' failures. Optimists need not apply.

    5d8 + 9 vs, what, 3d8 + 5? About twice as good.

blah blah b;ah.. If someoen wants to spend 70 Tp's for that potion (Or whatever the regulat cure crit potion is) let em... Nice for Soloers with no UMD.... Bout the only thing I can think of.

Yes, It would be nice if Cure Crit was available in-game, but its not really that much of an improvement over cure serious.

Even that is a pretty silly cost compared to toting a Cleric Hireling along with you. I guess if you're trying to solo raids...

I don't foresee a whole lot of these selling...of course we'll never know.

Who cares what the cost/benefit ratio is?

Best available in game is best available in game. It's the trend line and how we keep on seeing what is available in the DDO store being > what is not expanding over time.

Is one bunny hat no big deal? How about two non body slot ability boosters? How about three?

Where does the line get drawn before it's too much? Is it raid loot? Because part of raid loot is purchasable in the store right now...it's the easiest to aquire part, but it's still there.

Breath, Cyr, breath... You'll need oxygen when real stuff hits the store.

but its available in-game. So according to your logic. Its should be OK to buy bot only Small ingrediants, but Medium, Large, and everything else.....

I dont have a single buinny hat. I get along fine on all my characters without it.

I only have a few Turbine STR potions.. For situations when I am soloing and need to pull a str lever...

Get some UMD and use Scrolls if you need better healing. No HEAL pots in the DDOStore....

nothing in the DDOStore is required to enjoy the game.... And generally people buying stuff in there are buying it so they dont have to grind or they just arent good enough to aquire the stuff that would make them better.

Yes who cares about other peoples opinions, its obviously yours that matters the most.

The DDO store is for p2p players, you can eek out an existance in f2p to buy somethings but the item options are more for the vip's. If you are a longtime vip and have the points, go get you some items. No problem with a sotre selling you the best things if it costs points you have to earn + you are given for being a member. I kinda like watching f2p players squirm while i use my exclusive items.

If this were the type of game where the main point of the game was competition against other players, I could see the concern (a couple free FPS games come to mind where it's gotten completely ridiculous). In this game, however, you're usually playing WITH other players to complete a goal, so if anything you're probably going to BENEFIT if someone else purchases one of these items, at no cost to you. Remember - without the DDO store, there probably would be NO F2P at all, so complaining about the fact that there are items in the store that are better than items you can get for free in-game seems a little self-defeating in the long run.

You do grasp that unlike many other FTP MMO with micro pay as DDO has evolved into, Turbine Points can actually be earned in game. That actually means anything in the DDO store is available through just playing the game.

So I can only imagine you must feel that only those who put time into the game deserve some advantage. If you spend 15 a month for VIP or whatev and get 500 points with it good for you. Me I spend 50$ a shot and unlock things permently and prefer being free of the monthly sub this game once held me back with.

Being pure FTP is also fine. You can earn plenty of TP to unlock things with at a slow steady rate. Ofcourse I call that being a cheap skate. After all its our cash that helps the game grow so its not ever bad to spend some.
