    Default Best Damage Type.

If one were wanting to reduce the number of weapon sets being carried and wanted to have just one set of Elemental damage weapons to go with a set of Holy damage weapons, which Elemental type would you go with? I did some research on the wiki site and compiled this data:

    Immune to Cold:
    Ice Flenser

    Immune to Electricity:
    Jarilith
    Marilith

    Immune to Fire:
    Bearded Devils
    Fire Reaver
    Fire Elemental
    Hellhound
    Horned Devil
    Orthon
    Pit Fiend
    Sulatar Humanoid

    Resistant to Acid & Cold:
    Pit Fiend

    Healed by Acid:
    Clay Golem

    Healed by Fire:
    Iron Golem

    Vulnerable to Cold:
    Fire Reaver
    Fire Elemental
    Hellhound

    Vulnerable to Fire:
    Ice Flenser
    Mummy

Based on the info above it would seem that Acid or Frost would be best. Does that fit with everyone else's opinion?

If you are talking low level beaters (ie - before you get to GS levels), right now you'd be best to go with an acid or shock weapon and add frost to it with the Ice games crafting.

as devils and such are all resistant to cold and fire for at least 10 points, the best elemental weapon is a shocking one

Exactly on the shock. That's why you see monks that only have 2 sets of bursting rings from ToD carrying Holy Burst and Shocking Burst.

Just be sure to bring your own healing or tip the clerics and favored souls well.

Ah, the info on the wiki site:
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Monster_DR_and_weaknesses

didn't include that Devils (Barbazu, Horned Devil, & Orthon) were resistant to Cold & Fire.

So how does Acid compare to Shocking? And yes, this is before you get to Green Steel crafting levels that I'm talking about.

    Thanks for the quick responses..

devils are resistant to acid too, forgot to mention that above

they only get full damage from lightning and sonic, so better pick one of those

Maybe that is why you see so many Min2 and Lit2 weapons running around.
