DR while blocking

When I block and use intimidate I sometimes loose the shield DR.

It doesn't always occur but I am holding down the shift key and pressing the intimdate which is on my middle mouse button and I lose the DR on the shield.

Anyone have this problem and know a work around?

You only get your full bonus when attacked from the front, if you are flanked or attacked from behind the dr is reduced. I am guessing this is what you are seeing.

and some attacks from like dogs swipe seem to not work as well.

I have also found since update 5 keeping auto attack on seems to sometimes keep me swinging even while in shield block and thus no DR.

check your logs, sometimes they just hit real hard too.

Well I will have t turn off auto attack and see if that is what is doing it.

But when I am blocking with shield I can absorb 25 points before being damaged and when it flakes out it only absorbs 5.

5 being my inate dr and 20 for the shield

But maybe its the auto attack I will try that.

If you have auto-attack on, you may be attacking and not blocking.

Holding down shift (default for blocking) and attacking performs a shield bash under the typical keyboard configuration.

Hmm turned auto attack off and blocked and used intim and still only inate dr if i use intim then dr it works..

its not really consistent tho.. but I guess i am the only one seeing this in the combat log.
