Exclamation This is the third time I've re-installed DDO!

And this is the third time it said "The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server". I clicked "Support" and this is what it said. PLEASE help me! I want to be able to go on my OWN computer, not my brother's!

Underlying connection error would lead me to believe that you may have a firewall issue. You may want to make sure all the ports needed are open (no idea what these are, but a search should turn them up)

    Unhappy

I may be a nerd but I'm not a geek. I have no idea how to unlock my port, and even less of an idea of what keywords to search!

that should at least get you to the point where it's letting the programs through, if you're using the default firewalls...if you have a 3rd party firewall program, you will need to look up it's documentation.

Thanks, but it didn't work... I have AVG security and avast!Anti-virus, so maybe that?

It's probably not an Antivirus program...but if AVG Security has some Firewall functions? I'm not fully familiar with AVG, but I think it's just antivirus, not firewall?

Just on the off chance there's something wonky with your connection...are you using a router? If so, try turning that and your modem off for a few minutes and restarting them and see if that helps.

I'd recommend also giving the steps here and the connection related ones here a go-through as well.

If its ongoing definitely follow that up with a tech support request too if you haven't yet.

NOTE: The Customer Support forums are best for Player-to-Player help, for more direct and official support, please submit a ticket to the appropriate team via the form here.

After contacting support, log into your email webpage to add noreply@turbine.com and accountsupport@turbine.com to their "safe senders" list and your contacts list/address book. Be sure to check Spam/Junk Mail folders as well since most email providers do not let external email programs or cell phones download mail flagged this way.

Thank you, but IE (that useless piece of...) does not have an "Exceptions" list. I went there but, like I said, IE does not have an "Exceptions" in the "Advanced" tab. This is getting pretty frustrating, and I have seen this page too many times. Also, anyone know how to check what kind of router I have? I need it for the submission of a Tech Ticket.
