    Default halfling warchanter

    I have a lvl17 28pt halfling spellsinger bard that I am going to GR to a 32pt build warchanter. Melee capability won't be stellar but with the full cunning and guile lines it should be acceptable. Since he'll be going directly to 17 the feat and enhancement selection order aren't critical. Am I missing any critical feats or enhancement lines? Also, do I need concentration?

    I think so: remember that you make Concentration checks when using scrolls as well as casting spells. Last thing you need when you're trying to pop off a Heal scroll is some monster interrupting you.

    Ok, a little shuffling and a +2 int tome gets me maxed concentration

    and am very much enjoying it. if it were 34 point ide do 16,16,16,8,8,10. (the spells and enhancements are not exact, i just tossed that together real quick for a friend and than saw your post so thought i'de contribute)


    I think it's very important for just about every character to get a +2int tome at level 7. those are skill points that are completely lost if you dont eat one at 7. a +1 dex tome is required too and the rest are fluff

    With the skill points, think you put way too many in jump. I think I only put like 10 into my pure bard and at level 20 I normally end up with well over 40 with buffs and items. 40 is the cap Im pretty sure so it will all be wasted.

    I agree. I dumped concentration on my warchanter in favor of intimidate (have 2 fighter levels) and am considering LRing simply to redistribute skill points to get my concentration higher. It really is a pain to try to scroll-heal and get interrupted all the time.

    Drop Bard Cha 1 and 2, and also Lingering Song 4.

    Instead grab Wand Mastery 3, Musical Prodigy Capstone, Halfling Fort 1, Energy of Music 1 (or another halfling save enhancement, this is filler).

    Net gain: 60% better heal scroll usage, 1 more fort, 20 extra SP, 2 more spell penetration for Otto's Irresistable Dance, 2 more DC if you ever cast a mass suggestion on a pack of mobs.

    Net loss: None. Capstone gives you both the Cha you lost, and the Extra song duration you lost.
