    Default Character Slot Supposed to Be 50% off Today but It's Not -- What Gives???

    So I logged in at 1:30 AM, hoping to stock up on character slots while they are 50% off on July 20, and they are still at normal price.... Okay, maybe the price cut hasn't kicked in yet, I think. Now I log in at 5:00 AM, and the slots are still at normal price... What is going on here??? I'm in the eastern time zone. Does this have something to do with it? Or is there a problem with the DDO store??? Really looking to get some character slots. Help please.

    They usually don't do anything until they get into work for the day, so I'd say at least after 9am whatever local time they are.

    I sure hope that's the case. However, it would be so easy for them to create a little if/then in the code I think...

    if (date=7/20) {
    /char slots are 50% off
    }

    Unless they just wait til they get in to work to modify the class that contains prices. Not sure how the devs handle the code for sales...

    I logged in once at midnight to catch a sale just as it started and had no problems. That's what worries me with this one. Well, I hope when I get home from work that the sale has kicked in.

    Some of the prior 50% off sales started at around 3-4 am eastern, so it's a little late. Hopefully it'll show soon.
    Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.

    Default Character Slots on sale through tomorrow

    We apologize for the confusion with this sale. Character slots are on sale now and will remain so through tomorrow, July 21st as a result. Thank you for your patience.

    Thank you :-)

    I logged in ten minutes ago; character slots were displaying as full price. I found this forum thread (including QuarterMasterL's response). I closed DDO completely and reloaded it; character slots are now listed at 297.

    Maybe this was just a weird coincidence of timing? In any event, I'm glad to see the sale is in effect.

    Default ^^ Timing.

    I've been in with one character for just over an hour. Checked the store earlier and it showed 595. Just re-opened it and it had updated to 297 with out logging out of the character, or restarting the client.
    So, I hear that one day we may get Familiars...

    Just a quibble, but I just purchased a character slot. It's listed as 297 points but it charged 298 (the email receipt said 298, but the in game receipt said 297). Obviously it's the hidden .5 from dividing the 595 by 2 and the store display is truncating it whereas the billing system is rounding up. Just an observation. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice if there was consistency between the two.
