Intimi Shield

Hey All,

Thoughts on the best Intimi shield in game?

Bonus points: My toon is an intimi/dc specialist (trip/stunning blow, ect ...) Is there a shield out there that is good for both?

Leviks Defender is a good all around tower shield, since it has a guard that casts heal on you. It is found in Hound.

Levick's Defender is probly the best.
Good DR, and Set Bonus +AC if you have the bracers as well.

While I happen to agree, the set is not worth it. If you're going for AC, which I'm assuming is the case for most people talking about intimidating and not knowing which shield they should be aiming for, the set just isn't as good. At best, you're using a Sovereign rune, bracers & shield for +5 Insight bonus to AC. Compared to that, you have +2 Dodge on Chaosgarde and +4 Insight on either a GS weapon or Sovereign rune (although I'd recommend +3 Dodge on your DT to free up a ring slot).

The next best alternative, which some people prefer over Levik's even, is an Epic Kundarak Delving Shield. Comparable AC (or the same IIRC if you slot it that way), slightly lower DR, and it's a heavy shield instead of a Tower shield. You could also slot it for +2 luck or whatever else you prefer so you don't have to wear a Head of Good Fortune while intimidating.

I've heard some people claiming the Light & Darkness shield (whatever it's actually called) is good, but it never really appealed to me.

Hound shield is best for intimi tanking. With some blocking featds you can get DR 45. Makes intimi blocking epic queen (relatively) easy, even on rampage

If you are True Neutral then Light and Darkness from the Inspired Quarter may actually be better. If you are not, then Leviks may be the best for you. Leviks set bonus is nice but getting the third item to make it worth while, DT armor, is just too time consuming right now. Update 7 may change that to some degree, but update 6 items may actually make the Levik set obsolete. Only time will tell.

I use leviks shield, not the bracers or DT armor thing...(none are useful in my opinion).

Leviks for me gives me an occasional random heal, a good DR of +15, and of course it is a tower shield made of mithral. (tower shields give a higher AC than normal shields by 2).

For regular fighting or turtling up, I vote for leviks.

Have stoneskin clickies as a stalwart defender and add 4 more DR for 49.....

That is pretty massive DR. THrow in a dwarf and get a few more...
