    Default Tip to new monks

Don't get to big headed, some things need groups :-)

I say this after 2 of my group die, the others are low / 0 mana and I meet my first beholder, Fight went like this:

    - ok guys we just need to get to that res shrine and were ok! (just insight)
    - beholder in the way, " no worries ill tank / dps him guys!"
    - all going well just healing his dmg with my healing ki and strike...
    - "we should make it ok guys"... death ray (you roll a 2)
    - anyone for fried monk?
    - beholder gobbles the other 2 in seconds

Whole of vent erupted in laughs after seeing that, wired thing is I was front of it, but I was jumping to hit it as i didn't realise.u didn't need to lol

Good times, thought u'd get a laugh from it

    I'd add weakening handwraps.

Or, as long as the beholder isn't a boss, use stealth mode to sneak up to it, start off with Stunning Fist, then just slaughter the poor stunned eye tyrant.

Wearing my DB item the Beholder shoots me with a death ray then realizes I have DB on, it gets angry, and follows up with a disintegrate which leaves me in vapor. :/

Yep, that works as do paras for most of them. I just don't sneak much.

Beholder antimagic field dispels Death Ward buff, you need an item with Deathblock and/or Absorb Negative Energy.

    Disintegrate still stings though.

Why am I a disgruntled vet? I could care less about nerfs, if the rest of the update worked.
I hate epic, GSF !="generalist wizard", and my raid loot luck still *'in sucks.

Deathblock does not equal Death ward. The former is an item effect and cannot be dispelled (by beholders), while the latter is a spell and can be dispelled. The former will protect you from a beholder slinging Finger of Death (and not much else), while the latter will protect you vs. nothing, as as soon as the beholder faces you, you'll lose your spell buffs (note, bard and monk buffs aren't spells and will stick around).
