Default New Age of Paladin the Shady Avenger

This is copied and pasted from another thread which curtailed the Paladins Diplomacy skill...but why not use it ingeniously....
    __________________________________________________ ________________________________________________

This is just for Lord of Rage...and the why's

Diplomacy- to shake aggro, you decided you wanted to be a real casting paladin and thought it better to let the fighter or barb get aggro.

Lower Con substituted for Paladin's shining stats- you wanted to be a caster paladin and you will be giving the aggro to those with more Con and Hp...if a drow sorc can get his HP to mid 400 you have no reason to sweat.

Higher Wisdom and Strength- You want to dish out damage and Cast spells with the fervor you should have been able to all along.

So the bane of all unprepared puggers who want all the aggro and will get it from you. (Be careful what you wish for) I present a Knight of the Chalice the Shady Avenger. (Inspiration for the name came from the Chaotically aligned Paladin archetype Avenger from the old Basic D&D but doesn't aspire to it's function)

Now doesn't that seem like fun? I mean who else is going to raise the dead cleric if you took all the heat? Besides your equipment is special to you is it not Drow? *Yark* Besides everyone will blame the rogue.

Personally I'd sack 2 points of STR and pick up more CON, WIS and CHA 16/10/12/10/14/16. 16 CHA gets you back the missing STR in Divine Might.

Yeah I was going to mention something along those lines for variation...it's an idea build. A skeletal frame for whomever wishes to envision it differently. I purposely made it more squishy to accent the need for diplomacy and why it would be used. Not to mention people like to toute a large strength score. Since the only way to raise it is through level ups I decided to max it at the get go.

If you wanted more HP then SP you could can the mental toughness for toughness as well which would not cut into stat point distribution. Lots of options.

I also envisioned a shady character going this route thus I automatically chose Drow.

The point is that with more CHA you'll get Divine Might III which means that you'll have more STR (or at least the same) after buffs while also getting more SP and more HP. Without at least 14 CHA and a +4 tome, 15 and a +3 or 16 and a +2 you won't be able to get Divine Might 3 which is 2 fewer points of STR using a Sacred bonus.

Also, HP is very important for combat characters. Yes you can not have aggro, you can actually do that well without Diplomacy, or with Diplomacy. However if you're getting hit by an AoE spell it doesn't matter much who had the aggro, you're losing the HP.

On a side note, more CHA will increase your saves which means that you'll have a slightly higher chance of saving for half vs. that AoE attack.
