After hording my blue dragon scales for two months or so, I finally got 25 and was ready to go for my FvS. I have to admit, having Greater Arcane Lore, 20% Spell Prof.VII and Spell Pen VII is just too good for me to pass up.
I took a look at several of the different types and considered several things:
A) As this FvS was a TR from a Wizard, should I get robes? After all, if I was ever going to TR again (not likely), I might want to turn him into a Sorc or a Wizard, etc.
B) Should I get leather? I have a decent dex (13+2 tome+2 En+5 Spec Gloves) as an Elf, and with leather I could have full advantage of that and less of a negative on my skills (yawn...).
C) Should I just stick with Scalemail (The medium Armor) as I have bought it before, and I like the look, etc?
I knew I was not going to take the heavy armor, as I didn't want the negative -4 to hit from not being proficient.
I read all the descriptions. I double checked. I answered a long, and involved question from "the wife" (I use "" to denote when I am being given commands by the equivalent of "the Pope")....sat back down, clicked on my armor purchase. I opened my inventory. Put on my armor...and it looked heavy. I had the ! symbol in black on my screen.....wha?
Yes…I had bought heavy when I knew that I did not want to. This was not “the wife’s” fault, or the games fault, or my annoying neighbor who constantly sets his yard on fire’s fault….It was mine.
I can fix this in several ways.
A) I could take heavy armor proficiency. Cost, one feat.
B) I could save up and squirrel away 25 more blue scales. I have three more casters waiting in the wings (queue worlds smallest violin)
C) I could get a greenblade and make due. Same problem with the non-prof. issue though.
D) I could get a skiver (Never once I have even smelled a tome piece, so AH is my main source here)
E) I could get a noxious ember (Abbot raid, not my favorite, but eventually possible)
So, I started thinking- Here is something I would pay for. I don’t want an easy button, I just want the ability to change an item into a different item with the exact same properties that the original has on it. I would like to take my Heavy Armor, and change it into Medium with an Altar, or Flask of Changeo-Presto, or Gobstopper of Stopping Gobs.
Yes…I know I am at fault. I don’t expect this to be offered overnight. I know I have alternatives. I am merely tossing in my two cents that if we had a Process that would let us fix out our mistakes (with both an in-game and store component) I would be willing to pay for that either in time or points.
I promise, no big blubbery man-tears if I don’t get the chance…just an idea.
