    Default Need opinion on my Arcane Soul

    The Fvs class is one that intrigues me greatly, and the arcane archer is a prestige that ive been desperately trying to work in with offensive casting that is reliable without gimping the archery side to much. I have found this to be very frustrating and pain staking, but after countless build wipes and revamps i came up with this....

    I want to also know opinions on will my dc be high enough with necromancy? thats all im going for with this build. and also no spell penetration feats, is that going to kill me? im taking 2 penetration enhancements, is that enough? i can probably drop something out to take 3 ranks of the enhancement to penetration

    No toughness, hps be ok for being at ranged?

    No improved crit or improved precise shot, i couldnt fit these in without droping dc to necromancy, but i was able to put in precise shot so i at least can fire at will

    Does this build work at all in your eyes?

    Im using 32 point build, and i only factored in using 1 +2 dex tome at 7 so i could get manyshot, obviously using more and better tomes by the end would alter things. I will have to use tomes and items for high enough cha to cast my spells, i took 1 ranger lvl for free bow str, and i took 1 wizard level so i could take elven arcanum 1 for prequest for AA, and also the free metamagic feat as well.

    My skill points are complete **** as well =/ Thanks in advance for any pointers and opinions, ill check back frequently to see what you all think

    Its similar yet very diffrent, that build is focusing on blade barrier kiting, i am trying to make a build that has necromancy DC thats respectable enough to be effective end game, and still enough archery focus to be viable ranged dps, and i would really love to not drop my 1 lvl 9 spell in the process

    Thank you for the post link tho, its nice to see someone else has a somewhat similar idea.

    I was thinking about the metamagic feat i take, and im starting to think heightened would be a better choice then empowered since i will be focusing mostly on necromancy spells, and empowered would only effect some of them vs heightened helping increase my dc by 2

    Could you list your spells? Kinda hard to recommend metamagic(s) without knowing what you're casting...

    You don't need force burst arrows to qualify for slaying arrows.
    Precise shot isn't that great if you can't get imp precise shot, so i'd suggest loosing it in favor of spell penetration (if you intend to cast destruction or slay living) or empower (if you want to cast mainly harm and inflict).

    I was told that atleast precise shot was a must if your doing archery otherwise you have to worry about positioning in groups to much, if this is false and workable without i will defiantly do that without hesitation

    As for spells that i was thinking of taking as far as offense ( i wont list the very low lvl ones that ill just be using to level up and will abandon once i get stronger spells ) and ill have standard heals and your typical dps buffs along with spell resistance, raise dead, Greater restoration, deathward, freedom of movement, doom/bestow curse and energy resistance line

    Not really a good combonation here... The only Useful Ranged Necro Spells you are dealing with is Destruction and Harm. Slay, Symbols, Inflict... All close range, Gota be in the mix to cast em... With less than 300 hit points.. Not a good combo for serious end game content.

    Also seems your healing/Buffing capabilities are severly compromised.

    You cant Heal. Your cant Stand toe to toe with tough mobs. Your Ranged DPS is poor and your to hit will be mediocure at best.

    With a standard bow, at lvl 20 and a +6 item and +4 tome to dex, using my summoned arrows, i would have a bare min of 31 ab with silver flame enhancements, +6 from divine Favor, +1 from bless, thats 39 with 2 simple buffs. Add Divine Power, and i gain 6 more for that duration, bringing it up to 44 ab.

    As far as damage goes with ranged, +6 item +4 tome plain +5 arrows and buffs with standard bow and enhancements nets 23-30 dmg standard hit non crit. Then you can factor in the various arcane archer triggered effects added, +dmg effects from higher quality arrows or bows. All that being added together still comes up short?

    As far as the hps thing, if i could sneak toughness in there i would and then id drop enhancements to take toughness enhancements but i just dont know how to do it without killing either my casting or my archery, i could maybe drop precise shot for toughness, but then im still stuck with 1 metamagic

    I took out precise shot for toughness and reworked enhancements to get all the toughness i could and this is what it looks like now

    Should be able to get this version over 400 at 20

    If i didnt need the dang metamagic feat so desperately i would swap one of the classes for a monk splash for a significant ac boost =/

    Decent.. but still considered low for most high end content.

    I think an archer without Both Precise shot feats and Improved crit is highly Undesireable in most groups.

    Be an Arcane archer or be a Necromancer. Trying to do both is incredibly difficult to pull off.
