Default small guild renoun bonus tweek

It's cool that smaller guilds will get some sort of bonus, but that came with an unintended (I think?) consequence: larger guilds with only a handful of active players and a lot of people taking a break are now considering kicking all the old timers out in order to get this bonus.

that seems very much like the wrong answer to me.

suggestion: base the bonus not on actual guild size, but active-only guild size. what defines an active player? someone who logged in in the last x period of time (I was thinking 30 days) and the rest just don't count towards the size of the guild.

    benefits:

    1. returning players aren't left in the cold.
    2. current members (many of whom may not even be officers) aren't stuck having to kick old members or form a new guild just to avoid the penalty.

    Default

In another thread one of the devs said that was the original plan, but it "was too complicated". So, rather than think it through until they had a solution that worked, they launched it as is. They say they hope to change it some day, but make no promisses.

So yes, booting of inactive members is the stupid side effect of a horribly short sighted move by Turbine.
