My Apologies

I recently made a thread joking around about a particular player that I'm actually quite fond of. I thought that the sarcasm would be obvious, but apparently it wasn't, or people may have questioned my intention.

I really do like the community aspect of this game, which is why I like to participate in the forums- sometimes I forget that although I've met and played with many of you in game, there are people who do not yet know me and may have misconstrued my remarks as being derogatory or inflammatory.

I had a funny fail, I guess, but I'm willing to own up to it and apologize... let the /vomit fest begin.

I guess that I apologize not for the joking so much as I posted to clarify and to assure people that I was joking.

If I had to apologize for joking, I'd never be able to talk to Deanmachine again. (Gawd, whatanoob!)

Whereas I can't (and choose not to) talk about anything moderation-related, I did recieve some neg rep from players. Whereas anyone can disagree with my opinions and they are free to show that by neg repping me, it's different when they neg rep you because they feel that you have disparaged their friends or guild in a public manner. I apologize to them- rep is anonymous and I have no way to contact people individually, hence- public apology to clear the air and make my intentions known.
