I don't have a TR, but I am thnking about TR'ing my cleric. I haven't seen anyone with the wings by their name since the update, but I know that it was reported. Has it been fixed or was it decided that it was gone for good?

Does it matter? If you're TRing just for the wings it's kind of a waste of time.

How are stupid little wings which have NO FUNCTIONALITY an incentive?

UI Improvements
* Quests that the player cannot enter on Epic (due to level restrictions or otherwise) will now have a lock on Epic difficulty, not an X.
* True Reincarnated characters should now have their wings again.
You thinking they are not an incentive does not make them, as stainer said, an invalid incentive for other people. Some think, me included, that the wings provide your toon with a way of saying (I put some effort into my toon).
How much effort is "Worthy of Wings" is not yours to decide. I realize someone can pike their way to 20 two times. I also realize that having a non TR toon with hundreds of hours of playtime will be better, and would involve more effort, than a simple TR. But that does not make TR "effortless." The wings simply say "I have some devotion in this toon."

I dont disagree with you here Sweyn, I can see why some people want the wings back. I have TR'D 1 char who i subsequently deleted while moving about servers and it did give me a warm fuzzy feeling, especially the little blue hazy thing when you zone in somewhere.
However..... One gripe I do have is not about the wings per say but about the manner in which the debate is being held.
I see many people saying words to the effect of " I want my wings back, it shows how much hard work I have put in".
Then, last week, alot of these same people were posting in a thread about the guild level number showing stating things along the lines of "remove the guild level, its just a way to show off your e-peen".... funnily enough some of these people put in that same post comments along the lines of "I prefer it to show my status {how important i am} within my guild, bring back officer status"
personally I think its bringing the out worst in people. IMO remove everything except your name and guild name.
If someone want to know if you have TR'd they will ask you. If someone wants to join your guild you can always give them a contact name.
Uh, did I say I was TR'ing just for the wings? I said I was thinking about TR'ing my cleric and just asking if the wings were back. It doesn't really matter to me. I was just curious. I am still collecting my last few things. But thanks for adding absolutley nothing to this thread.
During the last update there was a period of time where the wings did not show. I learned to like this time, as people did not join my lfm's and try to do essentially nothing. Not a fan of people trying to ride the coat tails of a TR toon grinding out quests. Personally, I think we TR's managed to foster incompetence in later game content by allowing people to show up and collect xp.
I'd like my wings back, but in no hurry to see them. Especially since I'll be right back at level 1 as a TR in the very near future.
The wings to me say "I've got some pretty nice gear, I care about this toon, I'm not a complete idiot as far as game knowledge."
Now I realize that some people wont have game knowledge and zerg to 20 twice just to say they've TR'd, but I'd venture to say that the majority will be like example 1.
You would think that. I am kind of neutral about the wings but curious if they were back. I do have an ex-guildie who raced to 20 just so he could TR. He said he didn't like the grind of higher content and enjoyed the lower level quests much more. That is all fine and good but he didn't make any greensteel items and he didn't raid so he doesn't have any awesome gear. I feel sorry for anyone who quests with him thinking that because he is a TR that he is uber. I am trying to get as much good gear as possible, realizing that when I TR that I can get the rest.
