It's fun to have low stength!

I was going around in the Devil Battleground doing slayers and rares to kill time, and I came up to Mr. Gatesmasher with his three trash mob buddies. I dispatched of them and ran away leaving Gatesmasher to rubber band back to his spawn point. Once he was alone, I had the idea of using my smiters, so I snuck behind him and started attacking. I accidentally got out of sneaking and was just standing there swinging away like mad.

First before you bash my low strength (I have 6 base, but have not eaten a tome yet), which would you rather have in your party, a rogue that does two or three extra damage each hit, or a rogue with 20 or 40 extra hit points?

I'm guessing because I wasn't doing any damage, he wasn't noticing anything. So I turned on auto-attack and just stood there for a couple minutes.



He kept on making save after save after save. But I knew eventually he would roll a one or whatever is needed for him to fail his will save, so I just kept on going.



Finally! After about three minutes he falls.



I do a little victory dance for putting my high intelligence score to work. Brains over brawn triumphs again!



And Gary Gygax smiles upon me as I pull a +2 strength tome.

That's right, I actually had to jump inside of the chest and eat the +2 tome in order to take anything else. Unfortunately, I mean old barbed devil came by and shut the door while I was inside, but that's another story.

• Rage Pots

Ugh, I have ran at least 50 Mindsunders and ransacked it many times, but to no avail. One of these days though... I might get it.

Madstone boots I would like to have, but more importantly for me right now is getting all the ingredients for TOD boots.

You dumped str and you still have only 248 hit points?

I'd prefer 2-3 extra damage and 150 more hit points, actually. I suppose, though, that 248 at level 18 (looked you up on myddo) is better than the 200 you had on your previous life at level 20.

Either way, there's no excuse for having 250 health at level 18 on ANY class, never mind a melee class. You should be hitting 400 by then, even on a squishbag rogue.

Completely correct. However, it's amazingly difficult to eat your cake, and have it too.

Exactly, my Drow Sorc at level 15 has 285, and that's with no toughness feat.

I was gonna comment when OP stated it was 3~4 more damage or 20~40 more hitpoints....makes me think he doesnt understand what adds to HP.....

Anyways 248....yeah....well...glad you got a +2 tome i guess you needed one. But that is still not gonna fix your HP problem.
