Khyber is THE most annoying server in DDO! (rant)

this server has really gone down hill since i first started on it.

early morning (est) = slowdown + disconnect!
late evening = freezes + disconnect!
heavy population = disconnect!

i've been ranting and raving at my internet provider for the problem and it turns out it only happens on this server.
i've played with no interuption on other servers at same times so YES it is this server and no its not my computer,files,provider,etc.

sooo in short my main is no longer my main and now i have to start all over again. thx devs!

for all you who are on this forum to try to find a server. my advice....Don't pick this one.

Problem for me is the early morning slow time that they use for maintance is my peak time, 6pm-10pm for playing so now i often dont get to play at all.

Someone did a comparison of the guild leaderboard for guild renown and suggested, that based on the amount of guild renown the top guilds had, Khyber seemed to have the greatest population.

Obviously that's not scientific, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Could it be possible the connection probs have to do with overpopulation?

I've been getting server full messages in the middle of a weekday and in early evening on a weeknight. That used to only occur on weekends, the day or two after a new update, or on a XP bonus period. The server is definitely (as definite as a poll of 1 person can be) more active recently(last 4-5 days).

I think it's akin to the crowd that gathers around a traffic accident or train wreck.

I think it's entirely possible. I would hope that Turbine would take positive steps like closing the server to new accounts if that was case or possibly moving one whole guild to Orien.

The other unscientific method I have heard is that the Who panel is usually longer in Khyber, indicating there were more active players on than other servers.

I have noticed a few hic-ups, especially in town (no DCing yet). Unfortunately, the reality of an MMO is that other peoples poor connection/equipment will bring down the people around them. I have taken to logging out in dead area's (I wont share where so I dont loose them) so that when I log back in its faster (less sync lag from people walking by).

Seriously, I understand. It's hard to hang on the BEST Server in DDO, with the hardest pipe-hittin #!&&3%$ since EVAH.

It'll be easier going to other servers where the easy button is even easier.
