BYOH Shroud

The last time I tried this, I just put up an LFM and took the first 11 people to request a spot.

Unfortunately, BYOH for Shroud means something different than BYOH for Tangleroot, and I got a lot of people who apparently hadn't been in the Shroud before enough to realize that Cure Serious Pots just don't cut it.

So, I thought I'd learn from my mistake and try to organize it on the forums first.

Departing from Merida on 7/15/2010 between 8:00pm and 8:10pm Mountain Time! Don't be late!

Expectations:

BYOH = Bring Your Own Heals (it's probably a good idea to Bring Your Own Buffs too)

1. Part 1 - you must be able to destroy one portal and the mobs it spawns on your own. You might have to destroy more than one, just not at the same time
2. Part 2 - you must be able to solo any of the lieutenants - and just to be explicit, without a dedicated healer.
3. Part 3 - If you have to ask what is expected here, this is not the Shroud you are looking for.
4. Part 4&5 - You must either be able to heal yourself in melee, or heal yourself while ranging. Tag team healing is acceptable as long as you arrange it.

Good luck. Not saying this cant be done but you will likely be leaving certain classes that have the most hp and the least amount of healing abilities out of the quest, unless they REALLY focused on getting UMD to 40 on a class that doesnt have it as a class skill.

Good luck. Not saying this cant be done but you will likely be leaving certain classes that have the most hp and the least amount of healing abilities out of the quest, unless they REALLY focused on getting UMD to 40 on a class that doesnt have it as a class skill...

Thanks. Those classes shouldn't have any problem getting into normal Shrouds - this is just something I've wanted to do before I TR Gemstone, not about finding the most optimum way of Shrouding.

Of course. If anyone can BYOH, it's a Cleric!

Are you sure you can solo portals and any of the lieutenants, though? I know that Clerics have no problem with that, but it's worth asking...

Quikkilla. 20 kotc paly. Self healingish thf(no esos yet, but who knows maybe tonight i pull the shard ) Healing amp, Emp healing, Quicken guard build. UMD is 37ish i believe. I can prolly bring a melee bard as well if we need it. Though soloing a lieutenant will be much slower than my paly. If it goes till next week I might have my melee fvs to 17 by then as well.

I wish you the best. Fighting Aetrikos (sp?) seems like a task much better done with a pair of overworked nanny-bots allowing everyone else to max their DPS. Not sure where anyone's going to get the time to get off healing scrolls without seriously cutting into the group's DPS, but I look forward to hearing how it went.

'm wondering why solo the Leut when people take so much less damage when they are fought together, usually, there is only 1 or 2 people who take damage with this method as well as people can get their backstab damage.

Is it OK if I use the FoL finisher during the harry fights? It hits for ~50 for non-amped peeps and ~200 for me.

Yup, this ain't about efficiency. It's more about making the Shroud fun again, rather than stand around outside the gates in Meridia waiting.

My ulterior motive is finding more self-sufficient players to add to my list. It's hard to pull off a successful "First 11 to click" Shroud when you're in a guild of 1.

I'd have no problem with allowing 8 pikers as long as I knew I had 3 others that I could count on.

This is a specialty run, just like the All cleric run, the ALl sorc Run, the all WF run, The all Rogue Run, the All dreamspitter run, the All Silver Holy Flame clubs runs, the point is not speed, its doing something different.

Soloing one is more of a backup plan, and a way to scare off the people who might not be ready for this. Especially since it looks like we're going to have more than 4, so someone would have to share!

I have no problem with fighting all 4 in the south.
