Default Best Way to Run DDO on a Mac?

    Hey guys,

I'm going on an extended trip and leaving my PC desktop at home. I'm bringing my new Macbook with me (2.4ghz dual core, 2gb RAM, Nvidia 320M) and was wondering what the best way to get DDO to run on it is for when I have some downtime.

I'd really rather not deal with the whole Boot Camp thing, since I don't want to get a copy of Windows, and I know things that let you run Windows natively in OSX, like VMware, are taxing on system resources and DDO probably won't run too well doing that. My friend had DDO running fine on his Mac that's 3 years older than mine, with Boot Camp and Vista, but like I said, I don't have a copy of Windows and honestly, I got my new Mac two days ago and don't really want to start partitioning it just yet :P.

Are there any other options? I read something about a thing called CrossOverGames, but I've no idea how that thing works and if DDO is even compatible. Hopefully someone has an easy solution for me .

    Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any ideas? Today's my last in before the trip. I can technically set everything up when I get up there, but I won't be bringing any kind of periphery that might aid in setting stuff up that I'd have down here.

I run DDO on my macbook pro, using bootcamp and windows XP. But there is a program you can buy call Parallels which allows you to run windows in a window on your mac desktop. Either way you probably have to have a copy of windows. =/

    Hope this helps!

Hm, thanks. I have a copy of Windows but really didn't want to deal with the whole Boot Camp thing. I'll feel like I'm infecting my Mac or something, lol.

As for Parallels, do you know if it's resource intensive? I feel like running Windows in a window then DDO in that window would kind of slow my Mac to a crawl.

It's a brand new 2.4 core 2 duo, 2 gigs of ram, 13 inch, with a nVidia 320m. Snow Leopard and all that.

Bootcamp. If you want just fix partition after vacation. Emulators may not be best idea on a MacBook. But I hAve no prob w/ bootcamp on my iMac. I wish they'd make a Mac client, too.
