    Default Guild Renown

What are your thoughts on Guild Renown? Has it brought your guild closer or has it done the opposite? Is it something worth losing your long time friendships over? Or perhaps it has brought you newer and better friendships? Just curious is all...

Personally, I'm not that big on it.

I think it's great! Gives a sense of purpose and cooperation to the guild.
Makes guilds more then just exclusive questing groups.

I feel it has given us, the Dragon Knights, a goal that every member can help with. We run together as much as possible, and the players that are casual can help just as much as the hardcore players can. We have fun with it, but we are not obessed with it. We just use it as a great reason to all hang out and have fun. It will be nice to get the ship so everyone can enjoy it together.

I don't like it right now. I think things may mellow over time.

Not impressed. I'm not incredibility distressed by it either. It hasn't changed much for us we still play the same way and the renown just comes rolling in.

One thing I saw this weekend though that surprised me. I was knocking out some of the low level quests (korthos, harbor, marketplace) for favor that I skipped on when leveling my wizzy. Now, you can really blow through these with wail a couple minutes each tops. out of say 25 runs 23 gave me 50 or 150 favor as an end reward. The rate doesn't seem that high on at level quests or maybe I just don't take that reward when higher level loot is available after all 50 favor or a masterwork mace is an easy choice. It occurred to me that if one was inclined this could be abused to farm favor rather quickly.

    Meh.

The High Rabbi of Gornn is still deliberating.

Perhaps if he breaks into the sacramental wine...

I just never saw the big deal about Guild Housing in the first place.

Shared guild bank space was the only thing I thought would be useful. Not even sure that's a feature in Airships!

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

Well, that is really great to hear! I'm glad the Guild Renown is bringing your guild together as a whole. The Guild Renown has also brung our guild closer & we have fun running quests together to see how many sigils we can pull. It's a pretty satisfying feeling when you start to see your guilds level bar ticking up. We seem to be gaining atleast 1 guild level a day with those lucky pulls of 1,000 lol!

On the otherhand though, the Guild Renown has brought some to the point where they're no longer friends with me or my husband because we left their guild to be in our own. We don't want to use what they've gained because we didn't even contribute to that, so we decided it was best to leave and become our own name. But now we are no longer allowed to run any raids/quests with them. It is a little sad that it came to that, but all you can really do is move on and be happy where you stand now.

I had thought that having an airship gave a guild a shared bank account? I wouldn't know though lol, we haven't achieved getting our first airship yet. Still workin on it, but enjoying our time while we do it.

It is but it's a total waste. The first level chest has only 20 slots which is fracking useless. It's also bugged atm. EQ2 the guild bank had 5 tiers of 50 with customizable permissions on each tier.

100% agreed on that 20 spots is worthless, but maybe for 15 bucks worth of TP's we can have 30.

Gave the Knights a decent RP goal, which means, basically, that after we hit level 20 to get the ship we'll be tapering off on the grind.

Its pretty lame. Mainly because of how its awarded. I also find myself taking renown tokens as end rewards instead of merch loot, which means Im going to have less plat available to me. Double lame. Renown should be earned by completing quests, not as a substitute for loot.

You do earn renown while in a quest..so far the largest amount I've seen being earned in a quest is 50 renown and that was while I was in epic quests. I still loot everything out of chests when in a quest, but if nothing looks good to me for an end reward I'll take the sigil.

Everything is only rented so I assume if they introduce gold seal chests (if they haven't already since I refuse to purchase gold seal amenities I haven't looked) it would be.
