    Default couple of questions

I have a couple combat questions

    1. I have a robe with invulnerabilty (5 magic reduction) does that work on all magic or just some I was in shan and was still getting hit by kobald magic missle for 5+ dmg and there was only one bolt or the acid blobs they shoot or is it getting over ridden by my gloves that have 1 dmg reduction

    2. I also have 2 robes one with light fort. and moderate fort. and it seems that I am getting way more crits on me when I where the moberate robe vs. light (notice I am healing myself more after/during battle and when scrolling thru the combat loggs) I am just wondering If I am just understanding the way they work.

    3. stoneskin buffs does it block all dmg or just some I was in catacomes had the buff on me and when fighting was still having to heal myself and no points were coming off of the 70 for stoneskin (scroll cast)

I am playing a lvl 7 DE wizard and I ussally buff myself with shield, blur, heroism (scroll) and stoneskin for boss fights when solo (scroll)

    1. Invulnerability armors give 5/Magic damage reduction (DR). This means your general DR is 5, but it's rendered useless by any magic weapon (basically +1 and better). magic or elemental attacks are not affected by any DR. The best kind of damage reduction is x/- which means it cannot be ignored by any physical attacks.

    2) Either you have bad luck or your feeling betrays you.

    3) Stoneskin gives you DR 10/-. So any attackt hat deals more damage than 10 still damages you. And as explained in 1) any magic or elemental damage is not affected by it.

    3) Stoneskin gives DR 10/Adamantine. So if you were attacked by adamantine weapons in the catacomps (Maybe Adamantine defenders ? ) they were completly ignoring your stoneskin.

oh, yes, sorry, dunkler is correct of course. i forgot about that because (basically?) no monster in DDO uses metal properties. which means it's almost the same as 10/-. It's the same issue with FvS who get 10/somemetal at lvl 20. i never noticed anything get past my 10/silver

thank you for the responces it clears up alot for me

as far as stoneskin it almost sounds like I am better off with false life or does that work the same way. does it help then in normal mobs in the dungeons and less vs named mobs

thank you again for the answers still learning how everything works hehe

One casting of False Life can absorb at most 20 damage, then it's gone.

One casting of Stoneskin can absorb at most 120 damage, then it's gone.

That's why Stoneskin is generally better. It may "only" be 10 damage from each attack, but over the life of the spell, it saves much more healing.
