Beginner seeking character advice

I'm currently slogging through it on my first character as a Sorcerer. I think I've got the hang of it and have been having a much better time in groups lately than I ever did soloing the first few levels. I just want, I guess, a confirmation of sorts that I'm heading in the right direction.

I'm working on finding a few more upgrades (the auction house has been a bit lean) to bump a few of my stats up to the next even number. But is this generally the right direction for leveling?

Your first character is going to be kinda gimp.

However, you seem to not be going in the wrong path, so that's a good thing. I would probably do things a bit differently, thanks to experience, but you seem to generally have the right idea.
