    Default I love WoF :)

Ran through Kobold Assault on Normal with my Wizard (8th) and almost exclusively took out 200 Kobolds with walls of fire.

It's not just for Undead anymore!

Well, completing a level 3 quest on normal with a level 7+ character isn't a terribly difficult task.

But the good news is that you can do much the same thing with it in much higher level quests.

Yeah, FW is awesome, until amrath, where it sucks, and then in epics, where its ironically CC (but still very useful).

    Cloudkill > Wall of Fire

    ...

    At least in harbor quests.

Why am I a disgruntled vet? I could care less about nerfs, if the rest of the update worked.
I hate epic, GSF !="generalist wizard", and my raid loot luck still *'in sucks.

Default Do Not Nerf Wof It Is A Law Of Physics And Nature!

Yes Wall of fire is the shizy.

It is the power of the sun escaping.

Dev's do not attempt to nerf a simple law of physics.

    FIRE TURNS ANYTHING TO ASH!

IF YOU NERF THIS SPELL THEN YOUR HEADS ARE TOO BIG AND YOU WILL LOSE US ALL AND YOUR JOBS!

Wow! I am actually scared they might ruin this spell. This game is in the end days.

Wall of Fire is extremely overrated. It's the greatest spell in the world in some cases, but it's totally useless in others. I've seen people try to "fight in the wall of fire" against spellcasters and ranged attackers that don't run up to melee; I've seen people (okay, it was the same moron) spam wall of fire against fire-resistant skeletons.

It's great for the solo capability it gives sorcerers/wizards, but it's not the only way to solo with those classes, and it loses its effectiveness a lot in group situations where there are other people doing other things that don't play directly into the wall of fire strategy.

Believe it or not in even in a bottle neck at a door even if aggro is immune to the firewall it takes away aggro from the melee WHICH TRUMPS YOUR ARGUMENT. Just because they are immune to it does not mean it is a bad strategy. All mobs can be brought to a bottle neck or door, if the party is smart enough. Monsters aggro on the caster regardless if immune to wof or not, but they cannot reach the caster. BEAUTIFUL!

Just to add 2 copper, ive seen wizards that dont really cast any other spell, just WoF everything...
They need to make another spell this powerful or trim WoF down so i dont have to dance in flame my whole career..

I have run with MANY pugs where the caster thinks he only has WoF

    Even vs. fire elementals...
    even vs. fire resist skels...
    even vs. Iron Golems (facepalm)
and dont get me started on the RED DRAGON in VON

    1) This is consistent with my argument that firewall is great in limited situations.

    2) In a bottleneck in a doorway is not the same as spamming fire-resistant skeletons.

WoF isn't over-powered, just over-used and over-rated. People who know how to use it can do great things with it, but noobs that read about how l337 it is and spec their sorcerer to spam it (and name the character xXNukleeeeearXx or something) seem to outnumber those that use tactics with the spell by a wide margin.

    This.

There are so many spells that could use a serious revamp to make them even remotely useful, it's a small wonder that casters spam the same ones over and over and over.

I know WoF isnt overpowered.. just meant that there needs to be a nice equivalent to add some variety

And a tactics guide on when not to cast would be soooo helpful

I dont really care about over/underpowered (plays a pure rogue repeater build with NO melee abillity- vs traps = OP, vs undead = LMAO)
But i sure would like to think about missions without thinking of the wall.
Im **** sure there are a lot of casters that get bored of spamming it too
