A bad example would be a wizard specced for electricity instead of fire and their Wall of Fires suck as much as they do.
People can become better at running Shroud by running it themselves, and listening to other people who already ran it 200 times.

As for PVP, there are plenty of games that are focused on it. DDO is not one of them. One thing I have always liked about D&D and by proxy, the games based on D&D, is there is no weekly class adjustment regarding balance between classes, because the fan base clearly understands it is not a PVP game.

If they got rid of PvP this game would be boring to me. I could quit. Not saying I would but when I don't feel like questing and I want to kill things I'd rather kill other people. It's a real challenge sometimes. Like 5v1.. I ran at an archer with slayer arrows and power word stun immunity and I chased him down and I got him. I'm a caster and he was using STR damage and manyshot. I got him and his manyshot-cooldown-glitching buddies over and over.

If I can't do that infront of people on a ledge in a tavern and feel good about myself I just don't know anything anymore. I might /death over and over until the devs got the message.

If they devote more time to PvP, thus taking time away from fixing bugs, making new quests, etc, I WILL quit the game. Period. And so will many, many others I think.

I got nearly 600 negative rep from a single post. This guy obviously wants an easier way to have fair PvP fights too. I say let him complain and if you don't like it then keep it to yourself. It won't affect you anyway because you don't PvP right?
If the devs spend time developing PvP and not more content then it does affect us.

the #1 reason why they should get rid of PVP........well, beyond saving development time for stuff that matters.

The only thing good about PvP is it keeps a certian type of player out of most of my low level PUG groups.

PvP requires skill and skilled pvp players. The pvp players are playing fps games and rts games and maybe a few MMO's but there havent been any real pvp players since the old school days of Ultima Online. WoW has a weak PvP base, mostly people coordinated enough to teamspeak and develop a good strategy but the hardcore PvP players are not found on DDO or most mmo games, just wannabes who boost how well they do against other wannabes. I have heard this game isnt even challenging on pve so this is overall the wrong game to look for competition and/or a challenge.

All I'm asking for is better match making (some sort of lobby) and maybe few new arena maps. It does not take that much time to make and could be realised as minor patch.
Actually, adding a "new" mechanic for match making and adding new maps would take hundreds of man-hours, not to mention physical resources, all of which could be used towards squashing some of the many bugs in game, or adding new content that appeals to the other 80% of the population. (assuming your 20% guess is right...I doubt that)

Sorry, but there is just not enough demand for PvP, a vocal majority(maybe minority, but they sure are louder than the other side) actually do not like PvP, and PvP will never be balanced enough to be truly viable. Not to mention the fact that PvP has nothing that will get people to buy items from the DDO store... I just don't see anything ever happening for PvP, and I'm happy about that.

    PVP sucks ass

I vote delete it entirely as well. I have more fun getting my ass kicked by PvE and getting made fun of by my guildies

sigh, this idea has been raised so many times that i'm not even going to be polite about it anymore
    no, just fk no!
PvP sucks, its only use is for tardheads to stroke their own e-peen
it has no place on DDO, it never will
if the devs decide to actually cater to the PvP population on this game, it would TRULY be the end of DDO
PS: Greensteel RUINED the game! and you all know it!
    less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"

I agree. This game has too many casuals and rpgers to have pvp. They would just get owned all day long and get frustrated and quit. If pvp is so skillless why cant everyone do it?

yes i am. Not in this game of course, the pvp parameters are too limited for real pvping. Killing bad players is not fun for me so i run adventures. Im here because im taking a break from rts and fps games. Im competitive in all games and have excellent ladder scores. I also have won quake tournament locals, regionals, and nationals. I dont mean to boast but i always find it interesting that someone cant believe these things, as if everyone is supposed to be as average or bad as them.

Don't break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back. There are times that a lack of skills in PvP translates purely to a lack of caring about PvP (or at least caring enough to truly give a ****).

    Default PvP problems

    Another problem of PvP is:

    Hide
    Invisibility (Did they fix it?)

You can still seen by another one.

Checkout LOTRO source code You can't see hiding people...

Best improvement they could possibly make to PvP: REMOVE IT ENTIRELY.

Consider all the physics checks the system would not have to compute if there were nobody wasting resources in PvP, so logically it would help reduce lag...

He who cares the most wins. Someone named Grubby taught me that.

overall i agree, this game should not have pvp focused on it. Not enough players are interested in it and the game is a DnD game so the focus should obviously be pve. I do wish this game would make raids challenging overall so no raid can go solo'd even the lowby ones.
