Beware ToD Teleport

Had a guildy get booted out of ToD earlier, with boots on!! so I asked around and found somebody else had to. Anybody else had this problem?

I'm willing to admit an embarrassing moment here for all to read, maybe you should check with your guildy to see if he did the same:

-Middle of the fight with the First General....
-Things are going well....
-I have a clicky I want to use mid-fight sitting right next to a boots clicky I took off to equip anchoring boots....
-I'm watching the fight rather than checking which number I push.....

PING!! I get banished and realise which boots I'm now accidentally wearing.....

Whoops...

Oh and been doing TOD ages, have exceptional rings from completions etc etc and not trying to hide the silly noob mistake I made.

So, like I said, check again with your guildy.

I've not heard of any other type of incorrect banishings happening.

I asked him if he was positive he had them on because thats what i was thinking the only time ive ever been banished was when i forgot to put them on lol
He said he was positive, filed a ticket and everything

It's not unheard of, unforunately. Wish I knew what to do about it.

Took boost off for hast and didn't put them back on. Just didn't want to admit to it

Took Boots off for striders and didn't want to admit to it. And why would you kite him around? Just kill him, and if you're group isn't capable of that *SNICKER* pull him to a corner and have someone spot heal him

If there was some way to prove it, I'd be willing to bet real money the folks in question really didn't have their Boots of Anchoring on at the time they were banished and are filing tickets, etc. to avoid embarrassment.

Yes it wasnt me just taking word of somebody I trust so not sure. It hasnt happened to me and Im tanking most of the time on my Barb who gets brunt of all damage/spell effects. SO not sure what to think

It is a rather rare bug but every once in a great while it's been known to happen. Known and confirmed. Unfortunately nothing a game admin can really do about it.

Thats what I'm betting too. To be fair though, sometimes the lag gets so bad in there that gear swapping takes a lot longer than it should and you think you have them equipped when in actual fact the change hasn't updated yet, or the game just doesn't even recognise the swap.

Then of course, theres the old "forget-to-change-back-to-anchoring-after getting-madstone-buff" trick.

Pretty nasty bug if its true. Unfortunate for your mate aswell, however, as others have pointed out it more likely that he probably just switched to the wrong pair of boots, forgot or something else.

Or you could do like what Asia did and equip your madstone boots by accident thinking they are your anchoring boots since apparently they look a lot alike

We ran ToD last night. My husband was on his cleric wearing his Mantle of the Worldshaper. He said he made a banishment save and no charge was taken off his cloak. I was on my sorc with one but did not notice anything myself (granted, I was in the back doing orthons and healing the Sulu main tank). We had a light monk for stun so no way to tell by the stun if the cloak wasn't working. I hope nothing was changed with the cloak. I find it strange that whenever one of these posts pop up its always "A Guildy" or "A Friend" You never hear from the personthat actually got banished "With his boots on"

I was there. It happened and not everyone in game posts on the forums. Now, whether or not there is more going on his side and the technical details. I don't know. He was adamant his boots were on. C'mon... It isn't like this is the first time Turbine has had a weird bug.
