Of course management could always just flip the switch and like a miracle the lights would go on in GMs heads...

Unfortunately, Turbine is still counting all the money they are making and currently care little for accurate reports as it seems like.

Even if that is true, Bloodhaven should still get to see a copy of the logs for exact proof, otherwise it is exactly what another poster said, guilty until proven innocent. Even that seems like a big joke because only the GMs have access to the logs.

As you can see from the screenshot i am doing C06 and these are my only tells for the gaming session.

I decline a blind invite a couple times. Then I say "no thanks" to a "relic" group.
I then get spam invited by the same person..
    I /squelch the person.

3-5 mins later I get a GM telling me I am a bad person and I am being awarded a COC violation.

This is not acceptable behavior Turbine. Do some investigation before handing out violations.

I have contacted Customer Service via email. I get canned responses quoting a section of the COC that I did not violate... As you can see I got no response from the GM who gave me the violation. I spoke to another GM about it and was told to use the Customer Service Email.

Please explain how any of what I did violates the COC???

One thing that may have led to this is a lack of understanding. The player who reported me is Chinese and I don't know how to speak Chinese. Maybe "no thanks" is a swear in Chinese...
    Turbine should fire that GM.

Of course, it probably wasn't an actual person: It's more likely to have been an automated warning in response to someone reporting you for foul language.

There is an in-game word censor. Reporting for foul language should be reserved for those who are bypassing the filter and/or using words that aren't yet included in the filter. Otherwise, it is simply a tool used for griefing and revenge. What other practical benefit is there?

Since a working word filter has been introduced, a logical company would remove or alter the option to report for foul language, save GM time, and reduce griefing. The customer already has the power to control language themselves.

Perhaps if GMs actually investigated foul language reports it wouldn't be such a powerful tool for griefing/revenge. But with the in-game word filter, the whole process of reporting/investigating/going after specific customers is both damaging and inefficient.

Is the DDOstore giving Turbine so much money that they no longer need to worry about proper resource management?

Constructive solution: Re-word the "report foul language" option to make it very clear that it is to be used for reporting words that aren't yet included in the word filter, and/or for reporting players who are bypassing the filter. The report foul language option should also remind the reporter that there is an in-game word filter and give them step-by-step directions to access that option and enable it.

Let us know if it was "no" or "thanks" that was bypassing the word filter. I'd really hate to get a mark on my account for being grateful to someone for giving me something.

Just another thought. Most of the time getting a response takes a few minutes, so it is possible that the complaint was about something much earlier than this situation.

It is also possible that someone in your party (if you are using voicechat) could have taken offense to things said verbally and that was the origin of the complaint.

Clearly the most critical part of the GM communication that is lacking is an explanation from them of the actual source of the complaint. As it is, the OP is left wondering what they did since it appears that absolutely nothing was amiss during the period of time covered by the screenshot. Now I assume most people do not routinely take screen shoots of expanded chat logs unless something happens, so this is probably the best we can get.

Turbine, it would make things a lot less confusing if when you are brought into a complaint like this if the one being complained about was given actual info about the incident so that they can know what the problem was. It is possible that the complaint was filed by someone not even appearing in the chat log (if the OP was in a party for example), and starting ranting on voice about ^%$^%#^%# spam invites. I know if I had a mind to or was concerned about verbal langauge in party that there have been many times voice chat has strayed, but it was all good in the guild and party.

I was always under the impression that you can't report things said over voicechat, as there is no way to monitor and archive voicechat for review.

    No voice chat.
    Might consider calling them Monday.

If your in the right here Blood, and I do not doubt you for a second, talking to them is going to be your best bet for the solution you are looking for.

I'd also like to know what the 'profanity' was that garnered a violation.

Well, I'd be under the same impression too since hearing every foul mouthed player on the server on their mic..haha! My guess like the rest of you is that the GM's aren't really researching the complaint and are just handing out the penalty cards right away. I'd never make a false report to retaliate on someone, but if I do have to put in for a harassment ticket - I do copy and paste chat right into the ticket and take a screenshot of it as well so there isn't any questions asked.

I'm sorry to hear that you were red carded for something you didn't even do, hope the issue is investigated and resolved! Otherwise I'm sure there's going to be a lot of unhappy customers.

Someone reports it, a GM has little time to deal with it so they take the accusers word as truth and ban/add a violation to the suspect account.

I know this happens, I'v worked email tech support and most of the time the easy fast answer is correct. The canned response gets sent out after a very fast look at the problem.

In this situation the canned response is not the correct response.

If Turbine was smart (hehe, what are the odds really) they will give a pass on the forum infractions here. The alternative would be to give Bloodhaven a no infraction curse out session with the GM.

Also, PM the name of the party leader that was spamming the invites. Someone obviously made the false report, he is the most likely suspect, and someone like that needs to be on squelch lists everywhere.

First off you can only see what is showing in his chat screen. GM's aren't that fast to respond, so whatever was suppose to be said would be high up on his chat screen. (not saying he did anything anyways)

Second, any time someone spams blind invite *REPORT THEM* .

Well, if you look at the chat log, you'll see that he had looted multiple chests before the invites started, then tried to enter Co6, presumably re-took the quests, and looted more chests. While the exact time frame can't be determined by that, it was likely several minutes as least.
