You probably won't get many hits on this trade. A smiting longsword is pretty much vendor trash, while a scim or rapier will still sell on the ah. Crit range creating a difference in value and all that...

Although I don't think many would consider a LS of smiting vendor trash, only smiters with 20 crit range fit that bill imo.

Please toss stuff like this onto the broker instead of the vendors. I've only been here since the great migration of '09, so I have a decent amount of nice gear, but there are still holes in my equipment list.

I just got a scimitar of smiting last week from a quest, but that scimitar is the first better-than-20 crit range weapon that I've had a shot at since I downloaded the DDO client. Having a few Longswords of Smiting on the brokers makes relatively new players like me very happy.


In other news, I'm very sad about the big-guild vendor that will buy your trash for a better price than the brokers. I've gotten quite a bit of very nice gear from the various brokers and I know that most of it wouldn't have been available to me in any form if there were a regular vendor that would have given 1/2% better prices than those brokers.

I have a Smiting Scimitar I am willing to get rid of. If you have something better to trade than the smiting longsword let me know.

I won't hurt you too bad on the price since its like..+2 Thundering of Smiting and has been sitting in a bank for over a year.

While I don't see a smiting long sword as vendor trash, it is an extremely lopsided trade for a smiting scimitar. The exception might be for a Sovereign Host cleric or favored soul.

Thanks for the extremely condescending comment Weasel (and no doubt the neg rep that'll follow this post) but I've been playing since before launch (as my sig clearly points out), have many 18-20 crit range smiters but still wouldn't consider this vendor trash.

At least not before offering it up to guildies, friends, the brokers and then anyone walking past at the time who would make more use of it than letting it vanish into the ether.
