Limitations of payments methods

Hey,

I needed to express my frustration !!!!!!!!

I want to buy some credits but i have no credit card.
I used a couple of time pay by mobile but it s so expensive, there s no way we can t get the same amounts of points for the same price compared to the payment with a credit card.

I HAVE a paypal account, with no credit card but with some money on it tks to a bank transfer
YET i can t pay coz turbine asks for a billing adress that i can t give because u have to give your credit card details.

So i can t pay with paypal even if i have money on my paypal account and the desire to buy points............................................ ................................................

And don t tell me about prepaid cards coz we don t find the ones for DDO in switzerland

i dont think there is a DDO specific pre paid credit card. my pre paid card i bought from a local grocery store but there alos in any convenience store i walk into. look for the card that has VISA in big print on the gift card shelf. it should advertise on it somewhere that it works for online purchases. it does need to be registered online but other than that it should be fine. and for being somewhere other than north america i think they have other alternate payment methods among other things. i read some stuff in the faq that sounds like your issue. someone else should be able to help you further.

In fact you cannot buy VIP with paypal, check the account subforum for a sticky post on the payment methods.

For ddo points paypal should suffice, despite some issues having the paypal accounts verified.

As for game cards, these are available but gotta make sure your account have an entry to use them BEFORE buying them, and turn it to account support otherwise.

I checked for game cards : none are available for DDO
I have never heard of prepaid credit cards in Switzerland
One payment option is pay by mobile phone but it is really expensive, u got only 1500 points for 30 swiss francs instead of 5000 points for 55 chf, it means it is 80% more expensive ! (if i m right on my maths), EIGHTY !!!! Come on there s no justification for that, i pay a price why should i get less points ?
The only reasonable option is paypal, but i can t coz turbine only works with credit cards, whereas paypal alows u to have a some money on a paypal account, that u can use for payments, except... for turbines.

This is just.... RIDICULOUS

Last option is to stop playing that game if i m not allowed to benefit from what is possible to benefit........
If u have any proposals for any nice online mmporg (except shayia), i m really interested...

pay by cash is not available for switzerland. Tks for the idea though. I played a lot and i have some good toons, but can t get +2 tomes because turbine doesn t give me the possibility to pay,

i think i m not the only one frustrated, there s been long going problems and nothing is improved.

i m going to play perfect shayia, it s a private unofficial server of shayia and it s fully free, instead of buying in item malls with real money, u get the item mall s stuff via quests and npc at low gold ingame prices.
shame, coz i really enjoyed the game itself.

Try contacting account support to tell them you have an issue finding a payment method for your specific country.
They might be able to process a manual payment for you just like they do when you want to give someone a gift.
No forum references on this, you are directed to account support and thus must do it by ticket.

As for being right or not you are not alone, there's plenty of EU players having problems (which was why EU has servers to begin with).
Also DDO is not the only game to not accept paypal for subscriptions, under a variety of reasons (search forums).

Alternatively contact paybycash to inquire about the payment methods for your country to be used with DDO.
It seems strange to not have any for switzerland but it is know that not all methods work for a given game and thus may end up with none (possibly for the same reasons they may not accept paypal).

Tks for your constructive answer. I deed try indeed to ask for a manual payment but i got a basic answer about paypal and credit card, the equivalent of no answer.
I m gonna try the gift thing though, like offering a gift to myself
