Default Where is the lady to teleport me to gianthold

So i log back after a long departure to from my 1st love of MMO's and EVERYTHING seems to have changed.

This does not look like the marketplace......... Where is the.. I wonder if....

It's probably been closer to 2 year since i've really played DDO, Legion had just pwned the abbot if that gives you a time frame.

Now there is Airships, people in my guild, all 5 of them, have been logged off for over 2 years. Was that a level 20?

I got a tell from someone asking me to do an instance somewhere. I believe when i responded ... Where is that.. they lost intrest.

Wow you start off at level 4 now... how that happen? Yeah logged off and tried another to see if it was specific to race or account.

So if i could get the highlights on what I need to know, I wouldn't feel as newbish as i really am.

The gianthold person is to the west of the marketplace. Near the bank. Look for HIM on the map. It'll say Gianthold.

Level 4 is called 'Veteran Status' it's a little feature that lets you create characters at level 4 instead of 1 if you have 1000 favor or more on one character.
In case you didn't already notice, my posts that end with must NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, be taken seriously.

The Gianthold lady is almost in the same spot. She stands next to the fountain, that is near the Marketplace bank. However, she doesn't do the teleport anymore, there's a fellow right next to her that does that now.

The starting at level 4 is due to 'Veteran Status', which is earned once you hit 1000 favor. As for catching up on most other info, I'd suggest you browse this site:
http://ddowiki.com/page/Home They've got a bunch of helpful info there.

Also check out the User Written guides on the forums here. You'll find maps and all sorts of other useful stuff.

Person to get teleported to GH is by the fountain near the bank in the marketplace (middle of the western edge).

The "start at level 4" is a favor reward. If you get 1000 favor on a character, your future characters on that server can start at level 4. Or you can by it for all servers on the Turbine Store for turbine points; these can be earned (slowly) via favor, or bought for real money.

The marketplace tent was destroyed by devils who invaded stormreach. That was before my time, but supposedly is was exciting whenever there wasn't crippling lag. The symbol that was on top of the tent can be found somewhere...

Indeed the level cap is at 20; it was raised when free to play began.

Airships are very new; only been available for a couple weeks. Only the top 10 guilds on the servers have them so far, and only a few have anything worthwhile on them.

You'll get a mixed bag from blind tells. Usually best to ignore them.

Incidentally, Abbot still isn't a very popular raid.

By the looks of your level 14 characters, you left before the Shroud came out. That's now the most-run, probably most important raid. You can craft Greensteel items using ingredients from it. Some of the best things you can craft are the Mineral II, which is a Holy, Acid Burst, Acid Blast (basically just extra damage on crit) Metalline (formerly transmuting, now only bypasses metal-based DR), Keen, and Slicing; or the Lightning II, which is Holy, Shocking Burst, Shocking Blast and plus about 600 shock damage on 2% of hits. The MinII is good because many of the Raid bosses are Devils with DR/Good+Silver, which is hard to bypass with anything more damaging than a MinII. You can also craft items that give you +45 HP or +150 SP, which stack with almost everything.

Another big new thing is Reincarnation. Lesser reincarnation is a respec; you can immediately relevel your character. By default, you have to keep your classes the way they were, but you can change ability scores, feats and skills. You can get +1, +3, +5 reincarnation tokens to change 1, 3 or 5 class choices. Greater reincarnation is the same as lesser but turns a 28-point character into a 32-point character.

True reincarnation is a bigger change. You take a 20th level character, and basically start again from level 1 (no veteran status allowed). But, you keep your gear, and you get to start with 34-points, and get a bonus past-class-specific past-life-feat. Second TR gets 36-points, and another feat. Third TR and on just accumulate the past-life-feats. Downside of TRing is the xp requirements to level go up significantly.
