Can't remember the instance, but this same person kept running of solo, at low health etc... of course he also kept dying. So I raised him once, then he runs of again and I simply didn't really want to bother healing (I'm of the weird perception that people who run of, are self-sufficient), so next encounter he's allready dead...

Then he asks in capital letters why no one is healing him, I sadly don't manage responding till another party member says: "DDO clerics can't cure stupidity".

    Was priceless...

    I do this too.

At the beginning of a quest I throw buffs. Resists, Protection from Evil, FoM, Deathward...whatever I know we need for the quest.

If they run off when I start buffing...I figure they think they can handle it without me, so I don't bother casting any of my spells on them.

Can I get a pm of this useless cleric's name?

I want to make sure I never run with him.

You forgot Shield of Faith, Aid and Spawnscreen. Obviously, nobody is allowed to move until the cleric is out of mana and the buff fest is finally over.

Default Been on both ends of it...

I run a 6/1 cleric/fighter and the group I normally run with has a rogue. She has a fighter mentality and a wizards con so she spent a lot of time dead. I finally has to put my foot down and say you run off on your own again and die I'm leaving you that way.
She learned real fast I was serious cause I wasn't gonna play chase the rogue.

On the other hand I have a 6/4 rogue/ranger who carries cure wands like they are
free. I try and back up the cleric in the group and help top people off, but it also makes me pretty much self-sufficient.

Don't be absurd. I never cast those spells.

But hey, if you wanna go fight the Fire Elementals with no Fire Resist, be my guest. I just won't waste my SP healing you, or bringing you back from the dead.

I just remember I joined a House J quest in progress in time for about the last few fights. Group decides to do more house J quests, but the leader leaves. My cleric was thrown the star. Fine, whatever. The next quest was decided on, and I was trying to find someone to fill out the party. Half the party hops in the quest while I'm still trying to fill the last spot, attempt to zerg through (I think it was xorian, not positive, though) and die, freaking out because the cleric didn't heal them. Two of the 3 then drop group because I didn't go in and rez them. The one that remained was an asset to the group, and didn't run off again.

Been playing bards for years. Not only am I expected to go from my role to a healer's role on the whim of any zerger who spots my blue bar, but I have often had the same experience as your rogue. Spending my quests wand wipping and healing (instead of buffing and combat casting) only to have everyone praise the cleric at the end of the quest. Ive NEVER had a bard "tip" in over 3 years of playing...and Ive been primary healer a time or two in that time.

I have gone through 3 healers basically. A level 20 Bard Healer Spec, a level 18 cleric, and a level 17 FvS-not made to be a heal bot. And the insanity seems to have gotten worse in the past few months than ever before.

I can't run anything with my FvS without people freaking out about wanting a heal or needing a buff they think I have. I suppose they don't listen carefully when I explain before hand that this toon in particular is not a heal bot. I will heal if you are down to nothing and are near enough to me where all I have to do is click a button. I explain I have a cleric heal bot and this toon is not that. They are okay with it, until they decide to take a left turn when I take a right and then die screaming for a heal. Then the funny part, they start with the insults of 'If the healer could heal worth a ****' or 'Why make a FvS if you aren't going to heal people' or my favorite 'Its time to reroll your toon. Its gimp.' Then I fight my way to their stone with ease, pick it up, solo cast and fight my way to the shrine, then drop it off at the shrine.

    Now who's gimp?

+1 for that line, even though I prefer Clerics

As for tips, I tend to keep some extra Haste pots handy to give out as brownie points :P

Just completed a Quest & i had to let a character die.

He starts in with "Dude, why didn't you heal me?"
"Because you had so many ongoing negative effects there was no way for my healing to keep up & not everyone else had those effects."
"WELL YOU SHOULD OF HEALED ME! @#% #$%#$^ CLERIC NOT HEALING! ITS WHAT YOUR HERE FOR! HEALZ ME!"
/point "Why didn't you use the healing shrine?" (points at healing shrine right next to me)
"I was saving it? Now are you going to resurrect me or not?"
"Nope... I can proudly say, no. no i'm not"
"DROP THIS CLERIC HE'S NOT ANY @#$%ING GOOD... HE WONT HEAL!"
*team leader* "Sure he did, you just didn't listen" *team leader picks up stone, moves it too the other side of the map, then drops it*
*team leader* "Ok guys, lets do this next bit"

I've been booted from a group. For Irestone Inlet. On my new lvl 3 cleric.

Because I didn't have the aura. And the leader was convinced I should, because he did Misery's Peak with a kickass lvl 2 cleric with aura. And he doesn't take any clerics without the aura any more, because they're gimped.

Last time I ran in a pug with my Cleric:

We had two Rangers, a Rogue, and a Barbarian. This was back at level 4, Waterworks Elite. Part 1, mind you.

Barbarian runs through the fire trap at the intersection, losing about half his hp, and runs ahead. One Ranger and the Rogue head off to the left. Leaving me and a Ranger staring at a trap. Seconds later, there's two dings as the Rogue and zerging Ranger dies, and the barbarian is running full bore back into the flames, an army of Kobolds chasing his 12 remaining hp.

The blame? The Cleric who didn't heal people through walls.

    Last pug I ran:

We were running most of House P. I was on my Paladin, though I got yelled at for not burning my Unyielding and LoH on someone else. Monk, WF Wizard, and a Halfling Rogue were the ones who stayed most of the quest. We ran through three Clerics before I dropped group (just before Tear of Dhakaan, which I expected would be a nightmare with that particular Rogue).

The Rogue refused to fight. No sneak attack, no shooting with a bow, nothing. "It's not my job to fight!". First Cleric dropped group after the Rogue cursed her out too many times. We picked up a WF Fighter, and another Cleric, one who is actually a woman this time. The Rogue then proceeds to go off about Chinese Nazi Red Jews (seriously, this is what he called the poor girl) and how they're ruining the universe and how they must die. Etc Etc. To shorten it, we lost our second Cleric without running anything.

We pickup a third Cleric, and run into Gwylans. Did fairly well, as long as you expect a Paladin to spot and search for traps. The Rogue didn't do that either, though at least he'd disarm them once someone found them for him. He gets mad as I ignored his nearly empty red bar, and nailed the WF Wizard with a LoH in the final area. Why? Because that WF was very, very good. The WF Fighter I also hit, because he was very, very good. I hit the Cleric with US, and saved on LoH for myself. The Rogue? Provided most of the deaths we had in that quest, while contributing very, very little.

I dropped group after Gwylan's, I just couldn't see running anything else with that fool.

I don't have any funny cleric stories...must be the job. I do however love yours and if I actually kept a squelch list and was on your server I'd love for you to pm me the name of the complainer to keep any cleric that I do run from grouping with them to save me a headache in advance.

I don't have any particularly funny story, though this exchange stood out.

PUG, at the start of a quest, we have a rogue but I don't see him anywhere on the minimap, and I can't target him. He's hurt, too.

    Rogue: "Heal me please."
Me: "I can't heal if you if you aren't in line of sight."

Rogue dies. I didn't see how it happened. He's still not in the quest.

    Rogue: "Heal me, please."
Me: "I can't heal if you if you are dead."

My cleric could not cast raise dead yet.

Fixed that for ya. Also, you were TOTALLY to blame for expecting makeup to fight or disable traps. For shame!

I've never seen a Cleric heal.

Where do these people get there expectations from 0.o....

And yes, I know the answers WoW.
