    Cool U5 lag fix?

Ok so U5 was "going to fix the lag" by reducing dps, but now they have hps (healing per second) from all the radiant servants running around. Hmmmm...think the dev's might need to redo their math!!! Don't get me wrong I love my radiant servant; but you can't subtract from one area and add to another and expect to get different results. 1-1+1 doesn't equal 0 dev's. It is time DDO droped some cash and updated their servers; this isn't a programming fix it's a hardware fix dev's...

Radiant servent was NOT a cleric buff.

It was a direct nerf to the thernal cloak and the scarab of spell asorbtion.

I have to disagree with OP on his view of what kind of problem it is.. it is indeed a programming problem.. though a server upgrade WOULD help, and i hope they get on that. turbines programming has been shoddy at best from the get go. they need a major overhaul on their original source code, i could care less if they add more content if they spent the next 6 months fixing the current game..

their line of sight coding is simply atrocious, most notably when dealing with beholders or earth elementals..
still cant chase a mob and actually hit it.. have to aim where it will be a second after you swing to land a hit.

dps lag is worse now than ever, i walk away from a fight and 10 seconds later my on screen damage display finally catches up and shows a skill in place of the dmg type (signifying a killing hit)

Ya, it's not a buff it's a prestige class that clerics can take but healing auras that radiant servants put off are an activated abilty, and when you get three of them in a raid each of them with their respective auras ticking away every second that cannot help with lag issues that weren't truly fixed like we were promised with the nerfing of dps.

Well you got me there. I don't know much about programming hardware is my thing; but I do know that you can't subtract from one area and add to another and expect different results.

those healing aura's and other aoe's (the death aura) are more lag than any 2 dps melee's combines.. they have to make a call for every target in range, wait for reply, distribute effects, and do that every 2 seconds.

if a cleric were to run into melee range with a grp of melee's fighting undead, thats 6 checks for party members and X checks for undead in range... so every 2 seconds they "hit" 6+ times, then the game has to compute damage and healing given, check for criticals, roll for values, adjust the value's in the encounter...

just a small sample of why the idea of reduced lag is borked..

the decrease to lag was not a result of "Lowering DPS" Lowering TWF DPS was done to rebalance TWF with THF.

DPS lag reduction is a direct result of fewer physics checks and increased bandwidth. Has nothing to do with the Radiant Servant Aura. WHich is a Fixed Calculation for the most part, and requires no Physics checks.

DPS lag has been significantly reduced for me. I dont see/hear the "Chop chop" much excpet for rare circumstances, I cntinue to see everyones annimations when meleeing ina group, and most of all, my Heals continuously go off withint 1/2 second of casting. There were some instances pre mod5 where I could literally cast a mass cure and count to 5 before I saw the results...
