Thumbs up OOOOH! Component bag! (and scroll cases)

I'd love a component bag and a scroll case! I'm an arcane at heart, and they would be invaluable! I'd do just about anything to save the inventory space it requires for both! I would also like it if the component bag would also hold inscription materials, for those casters who don't already have every spell in existance.

    just my thoughts,

...but, they won't do it because part of the challenge of being a caster is being prepared with what you need for what you'll meet.

In just the same way as a sorc has to chose which spells she wants rather than having everything possible, she also has to chose which scrolls to take.

I'd also agree with a previous poster - my sorc has quite a large pile of wands gathering dust under her bed that seemed like a good idea at the time.

but much like quivers, you still have to shuffle thru your bag, and place it in your inventory to get it prepared. They can't be hotkeyed directly from your bag, so there is still some kind of inventory management going on. Even if I could just store them in a bag in my bank it would save me some space.

My problem is that my sorc not only has wands gathering dust under her bed, they are flowing out of the bedroom into the hall and other character's bedrooms...so to say. I am not concerned about not being able to hot key, I just want to put the reserve ones in a container.

If I had the space I'd always keep multiple copies of the following wands: False Life, Magic/Force/Chain missiles, Lightning Bolt, Fireball, Scorching Ray, Frost Lance, Hold Person and Electric Loop. This is addition to all the tutor wands for spells I may not want, expect to use, or rest shrine mid-quest to get access to (Detect Secret Doors, Protection/Resist Elements, Expeditious Retreat, Dispel etc), the in case of emergency short range wands, and the wands I plan on stockpiling from the pale master collector when I reach level 12 on my main character.

A wand container would mean only keeping out the 3-6 wands (when the eternal wands inappropriate) I default to in the standard inventory when not spending spell points, and have spares and situation specific wands packed away in the container. Mostly this is because I want inventory space for very long quest loot on top of the stuff needed for killing mobs sustainably throughout the quest.

Scrolls I tend not to keep/use beyond inscribing so being able to store scroll loot in one inventory slot is preferable to several.

I think there is more than enough demand for it. Turbine would benefit from it. I know people are willing to pay for it. On top of that Turbine has provided containers in the past, and if they set up the existing ones correctly it would be very easy to make new ones.

Seriously? You keep that many wands?

I might keep one detect secret doors, if I'm shortmanning a quest and there's no Rogue. And my Sorc doesn't have a clickie or two. It's very rare that I've needed more than the 3 charges on a cloak I have on my Paladin between shrines, so a 5 charge clickie should be enough. Especially if I'm not the only one carrying such an item.

Hold Person, no, since the save DC would be terrible compared to the real deal. Same for any CC spell. I want those to work as often as possible. A single-target wand and a mass damage wand, most likely of a damage type I don't normally carry rather than the same spells I do carry, and that's it. I do tote a couple of eternal wands, which I save for emergencies.

Now my Cleric does carry a hotbar's worth of cure wounds wands. All found/collectible trade ins. I use them in between fights to top up party members, rather than waste sp. She also occasionally carries wands of spells like Neutralize Poison, since they're not worth loading most of the time. Of course, I prefer that party members are smart enough to carry those kinds of pots on themselves, or immunity items as needed. But then, it's always either healing or spells that have no need for a higher spell level, and only because I like the graphical effects of Flamestrike.

Generally, it's one hotbar's worth on my Sorc, two on my Cleric. And when possible, I'll rely in clickie items instead. I rarely have inventory issues, and it's almost always either long quests with a lot of chests in them, or a long sesion where I just don't stop in between a couple of quests and sell off the junk.
