    Default Unable to launch game

So I decided to reload Dungeons and Dragons Online today and keep coming across the same issue. Every time I try to launch the game I get a pop-up box that says "DNDLauncher.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x38 (3128), Thread id=0xf94 (3988)." The process id and thread id numbers are different each time this message box pops up.

I'm running Windows 7 and tried everything to get it up and running but no luck. Anyone here have an idea as to what's causing this and what I can do fix it.

So anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? As for troubleshooting I've installed from both the CD-Rom and downloaded DDO installer from online and get the same result.

Default lets log in screen, but failure to launch

same thing as you, I can log in, it lets me chose a server, then to a picture screen, then it stops completely, does not give me a reason why, or what its doing or not doing, it just stops launching. I have not even begun to create a character yet because I cant get to the character creation page, or the launch site yet. I also have a windows vista 32bit.

    Default Similar problem

I can run the game on my Mac Pro thats running Win Vista, and an older laptop thats running 98 without any problems, yet when i try to run it on Windows 7 I have zero luck.

I can get as far as choosing the server and thats as far as it goes. I have configured all the ddo dot exe files and turbine launcher files to be allowed by both Norton and Windows Yet i finally found this error in the DDO folder. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

    Default Solved

As the usual case of most things it was the last thing I could think of. I have solved this issue for myself. If it solves it for others I hope it works.

I'm pretty religous about installing hardware and software driver updates so i didnt think it was an issue. What it was was was a conflict with the Logitech profiler. You can still use your G-13 or 18 item as long as you exit the profiler on launch. At least for me this was hte problem.

It caused a pageing error by having both running siumltaneosly. Anyway. Give it a try for any of you still experiencing this error.

    Default Simple explanation

One is a gamepad and the other is a keyboard made by logitech which are both programmable. They have a software application called a profiler, that you use to program said keyboards, in order to use in MMO's for macro's and such.

To make a long story short the profiler is a program that is running in the background that tells the computer what to do when you hit certain buttons. There is a little (well actually alot) more to it than that but lets keep it simple.

If you turn it off there is no longer any pagefile I/O error conflicts which in turn seems to allow DDO to work correctly.

That one is usually .Net related, check your "Uninstall a Program" (Vista/Win7) or "Add Remove Programs" (XP) control panel option for these:

    "Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1"
"Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 "Hotfix" (KB####)"

Both should list but you might just see 1.1 not the "hotfix" either way uninstall whatevers listed (if hotfix is listed uninstall 1.1 and then it, it might kick back an error but itll take itself out of the list). Re-download copies from the links below for reinstalling with.

    Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1

    The 1.1 Service Pack (Hotfix)

You might run into some compatibility issues if you already have 3.0/3.5 and 4.0 installed so you might need to temp uninstall those before doing the 1.1 install/re-install.
