D&D Dice Compromise

In the spirit of D&D and compromise, I propose that instead of saying:
"...deals 1 to 8..."

We now say:
"...deals 1 d' 8..."

If you say it fast, it sounds just like both, "1 to 8" and "1d8" at the same time.

Didn't I read somewhere that the whole damage range v dice notation was supposed to be a UI toggle/option?

Just implement that, and I think everyone will be happy.

UI toggle with even a default to "off" for d&d dice is by far the way to go.

A toggle would be nice, but a nightmare to maintain in the database. It's much simpler just to include both versions (i.e. 2 to 16 damage (2d8) ) rather than try to maintain two different versions of all descriptions.
