Default Twitch was not fixed by removing glancing blows.

It just wasn't. You can still twitch. You just removes some of their DPS.

It is a better idea to stop twitch than removing glancing blows while moving.

By removing glancing blows while moving, you have penalized those of us that were moving but not trying to twitch.

I like this game because of the active combat. That is the bigest seller of this game to me. When I'm playing, I'm moving to flank and mitigate some damage so I'm not going crazy with the resource usage or if I'm in a group I'm not a drain on anyone that is playing healer.

About the only time I'm not moving is on a raid boss for the group gank. All other mobs I'm moving and flanking, not twitching.

Your idea, while removing some DPS from those that twitch, did not stop the actual pratice of twitch.

Quick question, what happened to glancing blows?

Change log says some weapons now have it, other parts say GB is gone. >.>

GTHF no longer allows glancing blows when moving. In other words you have to stay perfectly still to get your glancing blows.

Anybody who tries to utterly remove twitching needs to sit on it.

Those that are not good enough to keep up with twitchers should just suck it up.

    Thumbs down

Twitch play is not a broken mechanic that needs to be fixed. It's been here since launch and is a legitimate tactic that penalizes bonus to hit for extra DPS.

    No, they did not.
They removed glancing blows while moving to nerf moving THF dps.
Nothing about that change is specifically targeted at twitching. Nothing has been posted by any dev saying the change was targeted at twitching. The change makes absolutely no sense from a "lets nerf twitching" perspective.
The only real way to nerf twitching (if that is their intention) is to change the animations.

Twitching is now mandatory for all THFs who want to do real dps. The removal of glancing blows while moving just made twtiching the only viable way to move in combat. Any THF character that runs around using the standard moving animation is now a gimp that should reroll as a TWF, or learn to twitch.

    :
Since the animations for twf no longer match up with swings at all they dont even need to change the animations for thf just the timeing.

That's why twitch play shouldn't exist.

You shouldn't get more DPS moving a foot every other swing than standing still and going through the full attack chain. The whole point of having an attack chain that gets longer as you level up is to increase your DPS as you level up.

If the first two attacks give the most DPS, remove the rest of the chain completely.

I'm not talking about removing the chain completly, just change it so that the swings at the beginning of the chain take slightly longer than the swings at the end of the chain...basically the opposite timing of how the chain works now.

Since the Dev's are trying to get twitch players to stop, then it wasn't intended from the start. It just took them this long to get around to doing something about it.

Look how long some stuff has been in the game but hasn't been fixed or changed.

You think this is good for twf too?

Ok, here's something fun to try.

Pretend that there had never been "twitch attacking" in DDO, and that the speed of a character swinging was completely unaffected by how you move and stand. Write a suggestion to convince the devs to add "twitch combat" to THF as if it were a new idea of yours.

Being GTHF before gave bonuses to hit with glancing blows while moving, I think it was intentional. You are taking a neg to hit after all if you don't have spring attack.

Yes, but can you make a suggestion as to why THF twitch attacking should be added to a game that doesn't have it?

The GTHF bonus to glancing blows while moving was added to help characters fight better while moving from place to place, if they wanted to be somewhere else for some reason.

LoL are you for real, programming your G15 keyboard to twitch for you is called evolving? Let me guess you honestly think twitching is working "as intended"? it was made to be like this from the scratch to enable "teh 1337z0rZ playah's" to get more DPS out of their builds? OR that its an unfortunate side-effect from how the attack-chain works for THF?

Removes twitching...LOL....ok.....how about this.....while we are at it........once you engage an enemy you are locked in place and cannot move until one of u dies.....heck why not remove being able to use potions, wands, and scrolls while your at it.

Totally agree....if you can't twitch go play another game or get better at this one. Twitching is a completely legitimate playstyle...don't crucify the people who are good at the game because you aren't.

    I doubt it will help.

I twitch just fine and I do not have my keyboard setup to do it for me. Like I said...don't crucify the people who CAN play because of the people who CAN'T.
