Default How about some NEW tunes for old bard songs?

I'd love to see NEW bard tunes for old songs :

    Distinct music for:

Fascinate Undead (some sort of deathmetal riff?)
    Fascinate Constructs (heavy metal riff)
Prestige Virtuoso:Enthrallment (enya? or something to passify)
    Prestige: Warchanter:Ironskin Song (rousing chorus)
Prestige: Spellsinger: Spell Discount song (clearing the mind song)

Could even have a steadily more complex version of the courage song for each time it UPGRADES.

    I agree with the sentiment.

For sounds, I would expect more lutey riffs in keeping with the existing stuff.

My wife's bard would love it.

Why don't they just add the Music System from LotRO? You could then create or add your own songs via ABC notation. If they also let you script them to the abilities, that would allow for unique customization.

Here are some in-game examples of what you could do:

Blind Guardian "The Bard's Song": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boGKGfVQJok

I'm still waiting for race-specific instruments.

    Humans can keep their lute.
    Dwarves get bagpipes.
Elves get some sort of harp/lyre.
Drow get a spooky bone flute.
    Halflings get panpipes.
Warforged have water organs/caliope built into them.
...And when they add half-orcs, they play the bongos.

    ...Please?

Fantastic idea! That was just what I thought when I clicked this thread - your own hand made songs!

    P.S.
    - Dude, can't you play something by dunno, Slipknot?
    - Sorry man, I'm only doing Kylie Minouge.

Except that in Eberron, Elves are the odd ancestor worshippers with deep ties to necromancy and strange variants of necromancy.

So, give elves the spooky bone flute, give drow a stylish scorpion-tail shaped harp.

    Oooh, I like this one!
Although I agree with Uryamore, Drow should get the harp (though spooky) and elves the bone flute.
If this happens, I would SOO play a bard. xD

I believe that Bardic Music should be open mp3's in the DDO folder that anyone can replace as they see fit.

Drow are actually the most "natural" race in xendrik, so their instruments would be those of drums, horns, flutes etc I would THINK anyway..

    String instruments would be human.

I guess you'd have to check the setting notes.

They play the same 4 chords over and over again, which is good enough for rock and roll.

The problem with a system like this is that you'll get people standing in town/tavern playing 'The Ultimate Showdow', 'The Song that Never Ends', or (ugh) the Rick Roll itself every single time it comes off cooldown just to be annoying.

I like the racial instruments idea much better, though that's a lot of development time (new models, 9 new animations (Male and Female of each race with a new instrument, -1 for the psudo-genderless WF)) and the new sound files). Would be cool if someone in the development team has some time for a side project though

Lets go with this one, please change some of the bard song so that their is some different between a dwarf Warchanter and an Elf Spellsong.
A necromancer from before Pale Master came out.
Argonesson: Nexal / Dolgos / Golgos / Earie / Nexas
Threads: Halfling PrE, Master Thrower / New set of spells: Illusion

Not the first time it's suggested, but... /signed yet again.

    I'll also /sign the OP's idea.
